Seems strange how we have so many posts about fasttech (free advertisement for them) and none of the mods seem to mind ... And looking at the list of paying sponsors, I don't see fasttech on the list.

Seems to me these is a double standard here

Careful now.. you might want to read down to my post, and re-assess what you just said.

So. Anyone with a new kayfun build to share? I'm feeling the itch to mess around with mine.

Nothing new inotfat, but I am back to a basic build. 7 wraps of 30 for 1.6-1.8. I seem to get better flavor and 3-4 days out of the cotton, which I couldn't get w/ micro coils.

I just did a quadruple twisted 30g at .7 ohm... I also went ahead n remembered to get cobalt drill bits n drilled out my v2 to 2mm. Amazing.

At first I was hesitant drilling a real kayfun cause if it made it lose flavor then there would be no turning back. But now im effing glad i drilled it. Makes the draws alot easier/open while maintaining the flavor. Best part is that I can have the center pin any position and no more whistle! I forgot to buy cutting oil so I cooked a couple of strips of bacon and used the bacon fat as the cutting oil lol.

really liking this thing. Onlything I hate is i cant rewick it with juice in the tank.

Just remove the tip of the bottle (if possible), use the top of the Kayfun as a funnel after removing the base, and pour it back into the original container.

I have done this a few times.

So did you take the pin out and drill the pin or did you leave it in and drill?

Bacon oil?! That might be the greatest DIY idea ever.

Damn I just wish I had a Dremel to work up some twisted kanthal. Grumbles.

I took the pin out but didn't make the holes bigger. I did take the 1/16 drill bit to it to smooth out the holes and inside the post just in case.

Ah, so you just drilled out the side hole to 2mm? Just drilling out the side hole made a big difference?

yeah it sucks. On the previous KFL/+ before the deeper fill hole it was easy to take out the juice with a nippletop bottle. Now im forces to use a needle nose bottle or a eye dropper (dropper is tricker since you have to do it at a angle). The good thing though about the V2 with the redesigned top cap, you can still have a certain amount of juice and still take if off.

It def made a difference with a easier/bigger draw and it eliminated whistle and sounds more like my R91 of a clean sound of just air being sucked in. Flavor is def still there but as for the vapor production, I def am blowing good clouds for a kayfun and it really feels like its dense and more of it cause of the easier bigger draws but I wanna give it a good full tank run before claiming I get more clouds cause of a placebo effect.

For some reason it was alot easier to drill the hole on my authentic V2 then my black edition clone. I was able to drill 1/4 of the way into my authentic with a 5/64 with a cheap drill bit before deciding to wait to get a cobalt bit. On the BE clone I was easily able to drill the stock airhole of 1.4mm to a 1.6mm with a cobalt 1/16 drill bit, but when I tried to do the 5/64 after I couldnt even get past 1mm in. The cobalt drill bit ate through the authentic with slow RPM but maybe cause I had already started. Dont really care for the clone anyways since its my girlfriends and she was fine with the stock hole of 1.4mm... was just trying to help :)

don't need a dremel nor drill. you can just use something like one of those screwdrivers with a clip, or use a pen with one of those clips also. double over a length of wire but don't cut it so their separate, keep them together, now insert into that clip and just twist the pen or driver. another thing that works great is a paintbrush that has a hole in the end. just loop the wire thru and hold the 2 open ends together then twist the paintbrush. this does work but may take a little more time then a drill but it does work and really doesn't take that long to twist a small section of wire. maybe take a single 12in to 18in length of wire and double it over, with this you are ultimately winding up with about a 6 to 8 in piece after its twisted. this should make at least 2 to 3 coils. also you don't need the twist to be super tight like some do on a drill, as long as its fairly tight it works really good. im working on a vid that shows some twisted set ups in the kayfun, I thought I could started yesterday but couldn't, should have it done by Monday though
