Me too... we finally got our fed refund, but I've already bought lots. If I buy another atty right now, well then I'll need another mod... and then... well it's just a vicious circle!

I did remember to buy some nicotine too, from wiz labs. Didn't buy a large bottle, just 120ml, but I told my husband I was going to start getting one of those every pay period, for "just in case" -- we don't really know what the FDA is gonna do, but I'd bet my keister they're going to do SOMETHING, and I believe nicotine will be their first target, it's a drug after all. So I gotta start planning for that rainy day.

All Russian-91s are similarly priced, whether Black or Media Blasted SS and/or the upcoming Gold. Which is around $99 ea.

The wire is called Kanthal. You can buy it at many vape places. 30 gauge and 28 gauge are the most popular. I use 30. I use cotton balls for wick. Most any juice bottle with a pointy plastic tip will work. I use a 5/64” drill bit to wrap my micro coils.

I really am at wits end to what this weird flavor is, fully torched kanthal 28 guage at 1.2 Ohms, vaping at 15 watts and I still have that weird nasty taste, after washing it.

I vape my FW/MBV DIY at 10 watts in my R91 & KFLs
9.5-10 watts for Jerry Juice
11 watts for Highbrow Belgian Waffle & 5P Grandmaster, 12 watts for Agent Orange and Pluid

Try 10 watts and take it from there

I have no earthly idea how anyone vapes at that power level; if I go over 9w with mine, it tastes burned. Probably just the juice I like, it's a very delicate taste and too much heat just ruins it completely, which is why I hate dual coils of any kind -- bottom coils, cartos, or even those dual topcoil iclear16's. Nasty.

I think maybe you could have burned it. I'm no expert, but it's kinda like, if you burn something in a stainless pain on the stove, you have to really work to get that burnt taste out of there; I always soak my stainless cookware in white vinegar, it cuts the starch/hard water gummy/hazy looking stuff off it, keeps it sparkling.

I have no idea if vaping is really analogous to cooking in stainless, but it just seems to stand to reason -- stainless, high heat, liquids, flavors... *shrug*

I'm very happy because I just got my quartz kit, so I get to finally taste this excellent Pineapple Express in a kayfun... can't wait!!!

If it makes you feel better, I always get some random weird awful taste in my vape every 5 or 6 refills. It's not a burnt taste, just a sickening plasticy taste. I've never figured out why, but now when it happens, I just soak my atty in boiling water and then rebuild. Could be the cotton, could be funk build up in the atty. No clue. I've given up trying to figure out what it is

If you are getting it after a hot coil or on consecutive hits, sounds like it could be a wicking problem.

I don't use silica....buy a bag of organic cotton balls at the drugstore. Much, much better vape.

Did you you completely disassemble the base? I think you might have overheated the insulators, and they need to be replaced. You'll never get rid of that taste until you replace them.

With my 100% PG liquids, I can't go over 7 watts. Anyone else use 100% PG?
