sorry, not sure what you meant by upper portion hole. The 510 center post does have some control of airflow. what happens is this, the 510 post is basically a screw that connects to the positive block. about half way up from the actual 510 threads, this 510 screw has a hole thru the center, and from this hole to the positive block the 510 post is hollow. This hole accepts air from the main air hole and carries it to the coil. If this 510 center post hole isn't lined up correctly, the flow of air can be reduced. to line this up, or to check it, you can stick a small needle into the side main air hole and see if it continues all the way thru. If it doesn't, then you may need to slightly tighten the 510 screw. you really cannot loosen the 510 screw because the positive block will loosen but sometimes a slight tight can open the draw a little. The hole seems very close to the upper portion of the deck, you know what I mean ? Also does that hole in the 510 have anything to do with air flow?
Also to the peeps I had this issue where I had to wash my Russian 5 or 6 times and I still couldn't get the taste out. I washed my new kfl clone once with hot water dawn and a toothbrush no problems.
