Turns out the AFC grub screw made its way AAALL the way in; I had completely forgotten about the AFC on my kfl+

My problem was the opposite; the farthest screw (dual airflow type) from the filler screw was constantly creeping farther and farther out and needed to be reset a couple times each day. Argh!

So I ordered some locking set screws from McMaster-Carr: M3 x 0.5 x 3 stainless steel, pack of 25 for $11.66, p/n 90251A155. These have a nylon insert that takes up some side clearance and tightens the fit.

Also ordered a hex driver to turn them: Miniature Plastic-Handle Hex Driver, 1.5 mm Hex, 5-45/64" Overall Length, $3.74 each, p/n 52975A14. This also works well for my new allen head post screws.

(dang, these parts is tiny! drop 'em on the floor, good luck finding them...)

How did those grub screws work out? I've got a EHPro kayfun lite + that has the creeping grub screw issue. Already managed to get it stuck on my Stingray once and I'd rather not have it get stuck again.

Funny. I thought I was from New Zealand.

Also your post above made me cringe over how much I might have potentially spent on vaping. I refuse to think about it. Attys alone would be more than a grand easily :/

Sorry for the late response. I missed these posts.

The K'fun 3.1ES has a perfectly functioning juice inlet valve, so why do you fill it from the top? I've been filling it thru that same valve since 2012 - and nothing has gone wrong yet. So do I my KFLs (from the bottom fill hole) ~ one of the reasons why I purchased these K'funs in the first place.

The 3.1 has the ball valve fill hole. I tried to fill it with the supplied bottle and it was slow and I spilled some juice. It didn't really work well for me. When I top fill, I lose very little, if any, e-juice and it's quick and easy so that's what I do to fill the 3.1.

Now the KFL has the fill hole on the bottom with the screw and o-ring. My fill bottles fit well in there and I rarely spill any e-juice and it's quick and easy so that's how I fill my KFL.

If you have any tips or tricks to filling the 3.1 thru the fill hole, I'd be happy to try it out.

What gauge wire are you guys using for your coils? Im using 30 gauge. Is it better to use 28 gauge with more wraps?

I was thinking about trying some 30 ga kanthal on the Kayfuns. The 28 with 9-10 wraps (1.6-1.8ohm) works really well for me but it does take a bit longer to heat up than I'd like. Maybe a fraction of a second. It's not enough for me to order 30 ga at the moment though. I've been very happy with the flavor and vapor with my current builds.

Huh... Between me and the wife, we spent $550 a month on smokes... I think I hit that amount in vapeware and juice the second month in... Havent come close to that since even though I buy, buy, buy.. :vapor:

I've been smoking for over 30 yrs. I just got into this stuff this month after using Johnson Creek Vea and Blucigs before that for about 2 yrs. I did stop smoking analogs for 9 months when I first started using the Vea's but their quality has gone to hell and I wasn't satisfied along with some stresses in life that pushed me to start smoking again but much less than 1 pack a day like before. My last analog was a little over a week ago and my MVP, Vamo V5's and all the RDA's and RBA's I've bought in the last 3 weeks have helped a lot. I probably spent about $400 in that time but I don't think I'll be spending close to that much every month. At least I hope not .

Never forget that when you buy an atty or a mod, you still have that atty and the mod. When you buy smokes, and I was spending $200 - $250/month easily, all you have left is butts, stink, and a cough. Try selling butts, stink and a cough in the classies. I know what I can get for my KFLs, Semovars, Cyclones, Origens, Reos, etc. Perhaps not exactly, but surely > $0.

No, not really. I can't explain but when I just look at the avatar, subconsciously it seems like so, but when it's in my mind that you are a guy, then no you don't write like a chick.

ROTFLMAO!

I have found members are more 'gentle' with me since she became my avatar. :)

Go to McMaster-Carr,
In the search field, enter this part number: 90251A155

This should show the M3 x 0.5 x 3 stainless steel Thread-Locking Cup Point Set Screws

I also recommend this: p/n 52975A14 Miniature Plastic-Handle Hex Driver, 1.5 mm Hex, 5-45/64" Overall Length

Thanks!

You can also search for "Cheese head stainless steel screw m1.6" and get replacement screws that will work in many atomizers. You can get the cheaper 18-8 screws in slotted head. So if you haven't ordered yet you can get some of these. They also offer the nicer 316 (I believe) if you want for more. These have a nice large head so you'll never strip them and a very flat bottom of the head which makes trapping wire easier. You want the 4mm length.

Figure if you're going through the trouble of ordering there might get other useful goodies ;)

Edit: Corrected the screw size. Had the other screw size on my mind and just blindly copied what I'd typed.

I also got p/n 92290A596 M1.6 x 0.35 x 3 socket head (allen head) cap screws and put a set on during my last coil change. These are also type 316 stainless steel (highly corrosion resistant) The heads are only 3mm diameter but the underside is flat. I had no trouble trapping 28g wire and it was easier to get the wire down past the head. (You could also get the 4mm length; I just copied the stock screws' length.)

These screws have a 1.5mm head socket, same as the set screws previously mentioned. I prefer socket heads, having used them at work for many years.
