Let's be honest, smoking cigarettes is far cheaper than vaping!

Maybe it's time for some new gear. Still vaping stockpiled nic I payed less than a carton for; back in 2014 some time. Most of my gear was bought a year ahead of that.

I still have a few half-full single-use lighters somewhere. That's all that's left of a couple decades worth of smoking.

Still.... Comparing how expensive something CAN be to how cheap something else CAN be... Is there a point?

I see only one point, whether it costs more than stinky's or not, it's more enjoyable, vape mail is my weakness, it's not killing me or my children but just for the sake of this thread..

Cigarettes cost me £14.50 a day, £101.50 per week, and that's cheaper than vaping, hell no. No way I spend £100 a week on vaping, yeah sometimes I splash out hundreds of pounds on mods and tanks and juice but cigarettes, this was every single day without fail, 365 days a year, total of £5292, no way I spend 5k a year on vape gear and juice.

I am vaping for about 1 year. Spending - about $1000.
I will not buy anything for the next 1 year (personal moratorium), since I have everything (but VG/PG) for DIY for at least 10 years.
Vaping is much cheaper.
I applaud you if you can go a year without buying anything, I have the will power of a woman in a shoe shop when it comes to vaping

I spend so much more vaping than I did smoking, its embarrassing. I didn't quit smoking to save money. I'm one of those weirdos that likes the gear....certain types of gear. After 2 years, I've found what works for me. It's quality stuff and it squonks. If I wanted to, I could sell off all of my gear for nearly what I paid for it. Some I could sell for a lot more than I paid for it....but I can't stand those people.
I prefer passing something nice on to someone looking to make the switch. The way I see it, that pif represents one more CAASA member or one more letter to a congressman.
I never saw cigarettes, store brand or ryo, as an investment.
Juice? I've made my own forever and its better than theirs!

I went all of 2014 without spending anything, so it can be done. (just stay out of the vape shops)

Just a friendly reminder to anyone here stockpiling nic, buy a nicotine content level test to test the actual strength of you nic after its sat for a year or 3 in the freezer.

Did this too, @ 2 years in the freezer my 100mg/PG read 99.5mg (or there abouts)

Oh and I still have my old Zippo, I bought it in Nam (63-64) (wonder if it's a clone)

It's not the vape shops, it's this forum and paypal's new pay after delivery service. Its just to easy to go online and click a button, I have no intention of buying anything and next thing, I see a post, omg, Starre Pro tank, click, pre-ordered one, I have no self control when it comes to vape gear. This doesn't happen with anything else either, I dunno, I just love vape shopping.

Vaping is only more expensive if you make it that way...currently I average $14 per month on juice, it cost me more than that to roll my own when I was doing that. If you build your coils, and have a little self control with purchases, vaping is far less expensive than any kind of smoking. And even with an electric injector, it took longer to roll a pack than it does to wrap a coil wick it and fill the tank...time and money saved, and that's rolling my own. At about 10.50 a pack here and smoking a pack a day, it's not even close

    What for?
Shelf life is estimated at 1.5-2 years so the strength of the nicotine could dissipate over time. Tj said his was about 99.5 vs 100mg after 2 years in freezer so for those that just store in dark place could be a bigger difference. Freezer wasnt a big difference but still effects outcome if off by 1-2 mg/ml.
If people have stocks that are 5+years old it could be more off then 1 mg thus changing the amount of nicotine in the finished product. Less nicotine wont be a health issue but just a little tip for the preppers :p

If you store your nic for years not in the freezer, I believe the strengths of nic will be much less of concern over degradation of its taste (it will become too peppery). In the freezer, as some people testified, there were no changes in nicotine in several years. So, I see no need in testing strengths of nic if stored in a freezer and no need in testing strengths of nic if stored not in a freezer (it will be bad anyway).

Here's something I've been wondering. I see people describe the taste of nicotine as "peppery"... does it mean, the sharp tingle of throat hit, or an actual taste? Because frankly I don't think nicotine really tastes like pepper of any kind... but the bigger the tingle, the better I like it!

For me it is something like biting (and deadening) my taste buds and other parts of my mouth. Yes, many people like it, one of the companies (forgot which one) even sells oxidized nicotine as a "throat hit nicotine".

It seems some forget us 'toodle puffers' who can find satisfaction in high VG+NIC in an Aspire K1 tank on a cheap Clk! VV stick.

If I crank the voltage up I can create more 'cloud' then my lungs can handle. Then again I smoked 'light' (airy) analogs so the vape does not have to be all that intense for me.

Yes, that's what I buy, but frankly I can't tell much diff between that and what I got from wizlabs. I buy it now mainly because it's the cheapest 120ml available.

If vaping is more expensive than smoking, you're doing it wrong, and it's probably a symptom of other bad financial decisions you make.

I'm literally still using the same batteries and tanks I started with almost 2 years ago, although I've bought a few back-ups and a few upgrades that aren't any more expensive than the originals along the way. I'm not attracted to shiny things, if it works, it works. Even though I don't DIY liquid much yet, I estimate my cost, including hardware, for me and my GF at less than $4/day, and I chain vape whenever possible. 2 packs a day here costs $15, which is what we were smoking.

I think it's more a matter of your impulse shopping combined with an addiction that is causing your issues TraderX, but that's just my opinion.

There is no need for personal insults, nor your attempt to play amateur psychologist with fellow members. I am very frugal in fact. If you took the time to read through the thread before insulting me, you would see that I have since learned just how inexpensive vaping can be, thanks to the very nice members here who have offered me guidance. In fact I am sitting here vaping on my $80 second hand provari and some dirt cheap Dekang RY4 right now.
