I'm speechless at how unenlightened my post seems now. I've edited it to show my deference to your argument against my post and linked to yours.

I hope I didn't offend you - it's a common misconception and belief. The ANTZ have done a good job deceiving people into thinking all Big Pharma = good and all tobacco and non-BP products = bad.

Chantix...CHANTIX!!!??? I'm pretty sure I NEVER heard of any "suicidal ideations" as a side effect of e-cigs...but the Chantix side effects are "small in comparison"...WOW I wonder just how much this guy cost Pfizer...

Right... this is the key point! FDA warnings and guidelines overweigh the risks of NRT.

I've been listening since the procedural presentation by the board at 8AM, and so far the conversation has been as I would expect given the history of this agency and previous discussions. Regardless of the obvious bias toward BP products and their increased profit margins, there are a few points I hear coming up frequently that could open the conversation to e-cigs and other recreational nicotine products. I believe the most prominent among these is the point stressed by many of the presenters that the comparison used to determine effectiveness of the method to promote cessation be continued smoking. This point closely resembles much of the sentiment on this forum with regard to hard reduction and could help to change future discussions in our favor.

Of course while I was type this, one of the questions brought up to the presenter appears to challenge this point.

Thanks for the positive spin kristin! I get lost in the never ending stream of nonsensical talking points...but there is always upside!

It's the whole reason we are even involved on this hearing about extended NRT use and fast-tracking new products. We have to support any THR policies so we can get e-cigas accepted as NRT.

OK I really gotta go now but the way it seems the panel is looking at it is they don't much care they want people to quite everything all at once with no help. I'll be checking on this forum thru out the day. I hope I'm not asking much but Kristen could you keep this up to date you seem to know what's going on the most.

Unbelievable...we are beginning to legalize ......... in many states, yet nicotine is under such scrutiny.

Disclaimer: Didn't know I couldn't type the name of certain narcotics on ECF. My apologies on the unintended rule break! But, I'm sure you can figure out what I was talking about there!
