Jeez! I love Louisiana, and would never say anything bad about it - unless you want to discuss your Governor, Bobby Jindal - so I don't know why you keep picking on California.

Because I spent most of my life there. I've seen what it was, and what it's become. It sickens me.

Two years ago, I buried my mother in the same cemetery where my grandparents and stepfather are, in Whittier (that's in Los Angeles, for those of you in Rio Linda). In thirty years it's gone from a prosperous, safe, quaint middle-class neighborhood to a third-world barrio with nightly gunfire. Coming soon to a neighborhood near you.

Sigh... just proves me right. You've never *actually* listened to Rush in your life, have you? You'll hate someone based on what others say / write / spew about him, without bothering to check him out for yourself. Sad, man... really sad. Too many folks like that in Cali, ANOTHER reason I'll never, ever, ever, ever live there again.
The only reason I have to go to California anymore is that I can't convince my dippy sister to get the hell out before it collapses, and even then, my skin crawls the whole time.

Whoa! I said I loved Louisiana - trying to keep everything friendly. Why the tirade on California? I thought we were just having a little fun here. I didn't realize that this had become so personal. Sorry if I offended you in any way.

I have listened to Rush. One of the employees here used to play it on his radio for about 3 hours every day - until we all threatened to kill him......

Think it happened in Florida where he lives. neither here no there. Personally the guy hits the nail on the head for me..politically speaking. As for Cali..lived in Marin County all over there..many moons ago..beautiful place but the folk..well they'd run you over and not look back...no neighborhood feeling..just had to get that out there

I think I'll send an email to Rush and thank him for helping us out. If anyone else wants to join me, his addy is elrushbo@eib.net
If his mailbox gets flooded with kudos, he might give more time to our cause. Just a thought.

I wouldn't mind flooding his mail box, but my garden hose is only 50' long. It just won't reach Florida.

No Thanks! I don't think I'll take the bait on this one, but anyone else that wants to should feel free to jump right in..... I'm waiting for someone to bring up Glenn Beck - a true lunatic of the Right.

Ill bring it up ! Glenn's great, he tells it like it is.. in easy to understand simple terms. And he seems to have something most left winger's don't. Its called Common Sense!

It must be because, as Beck believes, he has direct access to God. Didn't he once say that God was helping him write his new book titled The Plan. Yep! He did say that. Just what America needs a born again, ex druggie & alcoholic, Mormon lunatic who claims to be speaking for God. (I hope my Mormon friends don't take offense - nothing personal).

I agree! While we're chasing the GB rabbit, one of the best books I have read in my entire life is his novel titled "The Christmas Sweater." Not only does he have common sense, he's a gifted author. I highly recommend that book. It will take you by surprise and leave you THINKING about the important things in life.

I'm sure absolutely no one will be offended by your kind words. Wow.

I'm not quite sure how to respond to this. You've completely upset my equilibrium, and taken my breath away, with your statement that "The Christmas Sweater" is the best book you've ever read in your entire life. Seriously, you have to start spending some more time in the library - and stay out of the children's section. And, if you really did like the book he wrote himself, you should absolutely love the new one that God is helping him to write.

If you had comprehended my post, you would have seen that I was recommending the novel, not the children's version. I also said it was ONE of the best books I have ever read. I hope this revelation brings your equilibrium back to the normal range. :)
