Could you elaborate on pressed off please (I want to take mine apart and have manged to tear the connector off an ego unwittingly since the first batch was so easy)?

Just so long as you give plenty notice of a change please sir. If they change the tank, I want time to buy a lifetime supply of the current version.
I have 15 in the house, and none of the six that I have in rotation have a problem with cracked tanks. Though I did break off the metal part, and the connector from a dead eGo taking one from the 2nd shipment apart. Metal came apart, but the tank is still perfect.
I do hope they address the overly tight fit as of late however.

Everyone had micro fractures straight out of the box. Only one of them has been tossed due to leaking but then again, I've only used 3 so far.

LOL, IDK vapspaz. May be just my old eyesight. I did manage to find 2 tiny fractures in two off them.
Considering we're still using the original four (re-wicked), that are approaching two months old, I'm unconcerned. Really don't think I'll have to buy anymore for the remainder of the year. Though if they come out with a version with drop in coils I'd likely get some of those.
I doubt these in their current configuration could be made with a different plastic. The design relies on rigidity. Hey, maybe a $20 version. Pyrex tank with replaceable coils and a choice of stainless, delrin, or ceramic mouthpieces? Hell I'd but some.
My thought is that the manufacturer should remove the knurling and add a second groove and o-ring instead. That should provide plenty of friction to hold them together without putting stress on the tank.

That sounds like a good idea. I know for a fact that the O-ring that's being used now serves no good purpose. When I took one apart I somehow lost one and didn't even know it. I put it back together and it still works just fine with no leaking.

If you think about it the knurled base acts like little knife cutting through the very thin plastic at the base. So I can see how any little cuts in the plastic can continue to cut and migrate upwards.
I'd like to see the tank threaded at the bottom with a mating threaded base replete with an o-ring. That would make re-coiling and re-wicking a snap. And, it would eliminate stress fractures.
Of course, if that happened they wouldn't sell as many stardusts, right? So, it's not likely to happen...
My thought is that the manufacturer should go back to the original design. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. The crack in mine just keeps getting bigger. I haven't heard any complaints about the originals. I mean, honestly, people had them cracking before they even used them.
