In the land of no hills and red dirt
BTW, JUST remembered... If you do a vertical SS mesh wick, be careful about sticking the wick down in the hole. The first time I did it, I accidentally pushed out the positive pin. It goes right back in, but still. When I got it right, the wick was just barely down in the hole... In fact I kinda rolled the mesh at a very slight slant, so the part that fit into the hole was kinda funnel shaped.

In other news... Isn't it considered a genesis if it is a rebuildable atomizer with a vertical ss mesh wick? Or is it only genesis if it has the built on tank?

Interesting question. I suppose you could say genesis style setup and be factually correct. And technically, it may be more of a Zenesis style, actually.

I wonder where would be the place to set up a tips and tricks thread for this atty mod?

Well I had my Chalice and Grand at work last night. I went through alot more juice. But I am learning to get the Chalice working properly. The draw is easy, no harsh TH, and alot of flavor. I even had one of my not so favorite juices in my Grand, just in case I lost some. The chalice even survived two drops out of my pocket. I really like this set up. Both seem to be indestructible

It's a rugged powerhouse combo, that's for sure - purely mechanical juice feeder and a rebuildable atty. Damn near indestructible!

Bonus, with DIY and wrapping your own coils, you are now untouchable by regulation.

Got mine last night. Been playing with it too much to post. I am loving the flavor and the TH. Mine came in at 2.2 ohms as well. Had a funny taste to the original wick.

I tried the Gen mod just this week on my Phoenix atomizer and knew I liked the flavor more on my 3mm Ody/Pen style wick. Took off the original coil and used that and my trusty 32g kanthol to make a 1.7ohm coil. Running it at around 4.4v on the VVW.

The draw is a little stiff. Might try the coil on the other side. Love the flavor and throat hit. It screws together very nicely. Fits in all my bottom feeders except the mini. You could use one very thin circuit board type wafer spacer and I bet it would make a connection.

Untouchable? That is what my husband says.:) But yes, thats why I have some mechanical mods, and now rebuidable atties.
A few months ago I experimented with using fresh ground flavored coffee to make juice. I was fine without the nicotine for a few days, the bit of caffeine in the coffee juice seemed to do the trick. However I believe it is more of a habit than addiction. So let the vaping holocaust begin. I AM READY!!!
I also am saving my old gear to "bargain" with. I refuse to pay outrageous taxes on vaping supplies.

Now I just put juice on it? I'm such an idiot. Sorry guys and gals.

For the first time, I did put a few drops on the top of the coil and wick. I am sure a squank would of did it, but I was being cautious. Keep us posted on how you like it Keekers.

I haven't tried it, but I hear you can make a good coffee vape by adding instant coffee powder/flakes/crystals to PG.

I just tried something to alleviate feeding it so often without redoing the coil. I cut about 3/8" of cotton braid and pushed it under the coil, right over the feed hole. It absorbs and holds more juice. It is working great.
As for making coffee juice with instant coffee, I think that would gunk up things very quickly. I steeped the grains in PG for a few days then strained it through a coffee filter for 24 hours, no sediment at all.

Ok so I took the coil off the wick that came with the Chalice (it's obviously much too thin because it took me around 20 minutes to put the coil through the holes).

The first time I wrapped it, it measured 7.7ohms  Yup, really awful job done by me. So I took the coil off and I'm not really sure what I did with it but this time it read 3.3ohms.

Does this remotely look anything like it's supposed to look?
