CES..I thought you would like to know you made me laugh when your card came. My mom worked for C.E. (civil engineers) on base for many years..you sent a card from CES...my thought processes were and still are a bit muddled so it took me, daughter and BIL the longest time to figure out that the CE Squardron was not sending a card...LOL Thanks sweetie.
Fudgey I am not hugging on that kitten..it has itty bitty claws! "t" love you too.
I have to admit that the paperwork from 70/11 places that needs doing after a death..it going smoothly. My daughter and I hit the base and Social security today. As well as several phone calls to other agency's and we picked up Mike's ashes and forms to get his memorial flag. The guy at the Crematoriam..gave me the nicest Air Force emblem for when I carve Mike's box for his ashes. This is a longer process then mom's but people have been so kind and helpful. My only worry is his 100 percent disability(heart and back) and his disability for agent orange (which caused his prostate cancer) will be in jeopardy. I am hoping that they will agree with me that his radiation lowered his immune system so that he caught the virus that caused his lungs to fail so quickly. COPD is on his death cert. but they did NOT check the box that says it was due to smoking. He may have made it longer without the infection and virus. This means a check to me each month in addition to SS.

MK, sorry to confuse you- but glad that it made you laugh. ;)

Sounds like things are moving forward, inch by inch. It's wonderful that people are being helpful (you deserve no less), and that they're open to realizing the effects of the radiation- common sense as well as a bit more financial security.

It's absolutely beautiful that you're going to be carving the box for Mike's ashes. I am so impressed by the way you're dealing with this. You're doing what you need to do and making sense while you're doing it.

(((hugs)))

Well Thank goodness for my daughter..she has guided me through all the paper work and makes sure I get up each morning to do the things we need to. I have one meeting left at the V.A. and then we can consentrate on the move. We have been bringing bits and pieces of hers in and getting rid of some of my old stuff. The clothes will be the worst..without my spare room for a walk in closet I will have very little space until the MIL apt is done. Oh well Right now I have gained a lot of weight so most of my stuff doesn't fit. (my diabetic meds make me gain or lose depending on the drug..frustrating since I need to be slim to reduce the diabetes risks.)
I slammed my foot into a chair leg..I think I rebroke a toe..fun, fun, fun..but I have done it so much over the years..I kind of ignore it.
My son has stepped up too, he has been taking my younger grandson places and spending time to fill the void G'pa left. Jakes dad is in TN. and is an absentee dad even when he is here. Shawn has been a bit preoccupied with me for now.
