I found another issue with these - it may or may not also affect the current revisions. The center ce2 tubes are not all the same length. Some of them are a little longer. With one that has the slightly longer tube what happens is when you screw it down tight to your pv it pushes up some on the center pin in the connector. This pushes up the ceramic cup and wick assembly and on some could move it so much as to pinch off the wick with the mouthpiece properly inserted. so if you have one that refuses to wick well then this could be what is happening.
Yeah I found the center posts to be touchy too. On a couple where I removed the top seal and replaced it, it ended up pushing the center post all the way down and through the battery connector. At that point the gasket in the battery post is pretty much lost. I have one where I sort of got it back together, but the draw is all wrong. I'll have to try messing with that one some more.
I have found its best to tinker with them while they are screwed into a dead stick battery to use as a handle and it helps keep the post and things where they are supposed to be. I do this when working on regular clears too since they can do the same thing.

Ok I read some in another thread and they were a bit unclear as well. Here is the best way i have found: screw it partway onto some battery but only about half way. push up on the batt nice and hard the 'guts' should start to slide up. unscrew the batt and use the flat end of a exacto knife handle or pencil whatever and push all the 'guts' out the top. flip the metal tube over and push the ledge out of the metal tube. you will want to glue or reattach this to the bottom because it keeps the clear tube in place. you can also cut the peice down so that it will clear the threads on epower and such. replace the tube with one that is a bit longer and you have your clearo maximizer
Awesome! It was a struggle, and I ended up shoving too hard to finally get the battery through and bent the element. I used a 510 batt. I'm thinking if I dare try it again, if I were to use an eGo batt, it would naturally stop the battery since it would hit the outer tube after it punches through.
Of course I ended up breaking the guts of the one I finally got apart trying to shove it into a 5ml syringe... I'm just bad at modding

um did i mention that the 510 batt wont want to go through the hole? that why i just use the batt to get it started a little then use something else smaller (pencil) to push it the rest of the way out. I too the $#!& out of one doing the same thing - i used the 510 and thought it was stuck and kept pounding on it and CRUNCH AND it shredded the paint off most of the batt not important since it didn't work but annoying since it looked fine b4 that and I use it as a tool...
keep trying it gets a little easier after you get a couple out without breaking them. Some come apart way easy also and some are super tight you just have to go slow and easy lol

Yeah I killed an old 510 like that already. This last one was a bear too. I had to put all my (substantial ) weight into pushing before it would budge and I overshot it as a result. Can't accuse these things of being whimpy.
I'm at it again I used the eGo this time, and it worked great on the first one I tried. The next two... not so much. I gave up on one, the other I tried the 510 thing on again, and have lodged the battery in there, I can't even get it out with channel locks and a bench vice
I think I'm going to stick with just modding them to perform better as opposed to trying to build clears, since it looks like soon I'll be able to just buy them that way.
My mod for anyone that's interested:
Pull out the silicone gasket, use small scissors or a razor blade to slightly enlarge the wick notches (I found this one could develop dry hits). Replace the gasket when finished, use the tip to push it firmly into place.
Next, take a length of teflon tape and roll it up like a snake. lay that on top of the gasket inside the tube in a circle (so it goes around the edges) use a small screwdriver to tuck it in between the wall and the gasket (you don't have to tuck it all the way in.)
The teflon basically forms a gasket between the steel wall and the silicone gasket so juice won't get into the gap and leak through the tube. I imagine if there were such a thing as magic food safe glue lovingly and painstakingly transfered into small workable bottles by someone like Chris, that would probably work better than the tape.

Never in my life have I kept hitting a website looking to see if they have GLUE in stock yet. What have I become?

I took one of them completely apart (placed it on a battery and then pulled off the metal sleeve) wrapped the whole thing in Teflon tape (just one layer all the way around) and then pushed it back into the metal case. I did have to use a knife to clear the window again.
So far 3 days of using it and no leaking. Occasionally I get a slight burnt taste. waited about 30 seconds and then hit it again and back to normal.

If you can get in there CUT OFF THE TOP BLACK SHRINK WRAP you will think it will leak out the wire holes but it wont... (maybe thin juice idk i go 60/40 NO LEAKS) I have been back to back chain vapin this thing for like 2 days omg fogged out my basement... I keep seeing little bubbles come out the wire holes when I swirl it around all i can figure is it is letting the tank "breath" better which lets more fluid escape via the wick. Ive had NO gurgling in the air tube and I dint mess with my top gasket except to make sure it was seated exactly right.
I start mine out with the beat up 510 tap tap tap check it unscrew a tiny bit make sure it not stuck tap tap tap once it starts moving for sure I use a large screwdriver put the flat blade in the slot of the center post and you should be able to force it out.
Then I turn it over and punch out the bottom ring which can be very hard. I put my 510 batt in a cordless drill make sure its true then take the bottom ring and wedge it on the 510 connector pretty tight. make sure its straight then I use my dremel with a cutoff wheel to cut off most of the tube (while it spins in the drill) leaving just a ring which I then reattach to the bottom of the now clearo to give my tube a base ledge. I also screw the main part into the batt in the drill and while it spinning I touch dremel to the ring just below the oring and make it rough to hold the tube on tighter.

im doing my best to get it up today, each day was worst then the last, tons of personal headaches and then a long time experimenting getting the glue transferred. I had to read up on albert einstein little before re attemtping this.
