Mik...the PV looks nice. I just want to say, that I would like to see everyone refrain from using the word "smoke" when discussing or reviewing any PV, liquid or related product. It is in the best interst of all vapers.

Hey

I see what you mean but - and i mean _no offense_ by this - i think this is only a "problem" in the states. In Europe for instance, people dont care if its being called smoke, vaping, etc - they know what it is, - where i think the tendency in the US is that you have to be very careful in your wording.

So for my part it comes natural, i call a shovel a shovel, and if i see bits of smoke coming out my mouth, i will describe it as smoke. ;) Im born that way!

But I do agree that in general, it a good practice to think about how you word yourself on these products; But I also think that it will not have an effect on whether a PV gets banned or not.

Hey QueenInNC:

Yes, i agree. But im not from the states, and as such i dont watch my every move - and i know i speak for 50% atleast of the e-smoking community when i say that its not something i think about on a daily basis, simply because we are not under the FDA's grasp.

So - while i DO agree with your viewpoints, i will probably forget it again - and keep on saying things like smoke, cause - i live in a different "world" than you do, when it comes to control of substances.

And notice, please, that i do say i agree with your viewpoint ;)

I still dont think a word, or more wrong words will make or break the e-cigarette. I think its simple: Either "we" grow so large that we cant be stopped, and then the revolution comes - or we dont.

Mik, it is sad to me that you do not look at all of us, no matter what location, as a vaping community. You only concern yourself with your country. You are posting on a world wide forum. What you say could affect my freedom to vape. Vapor is definitely the better word here all the way around. I can promise you that if there were a ban in my country, your business would suffer. Therefore, maybe making an effort to stay away from the word smoke could benefit us all. I do not "smoke" anymore and haven't for almost 9 months.

Having not posted in the forums for quite a while, I still lurk around looking at new products and this caught my eye. Queen, I understand your sentiment but it could also be said that the world community is not the USA. I think it may be you (on behalf of the USA) that is saying ME ME ME. Not everyone has the same problems we do and it's not fair to come down on someone for not keeping american issues top of mind. Many countries do not have the issue we have, we may be a minority in this particular issue.

I think it's just wrong to call someone selfish for not towing your party line. It is your choice and your right to say whatever you feel. Please remember this IS a WORLD community and realize that we are not the only ones in it.

PS. This whole FDA fear/big brother mentality has to stop. Whether we call it smoke or vape does not the ban make. The issue boils down to money, we all know that.

PPS. I am very excited about the new PV's coming from Janty. I have always been a fan of Janty quality, just unable to afford all but select items. Mik, you've been doing a great job (I lurk this forum almost daily) and I'm sure all of us appreciate your work here, your design ideas and your passion for the products.

Queen: I think Ozrick sort of summed it up for me.

And mind you - i still dont mean that i dont care if people say smoke, and i still DO mean that i agree with your viewpoint, albeit from a more general angle: In general people should raise awareness to the vaping community, by distancing itself from the smoking community.

But, i dont think we should get more into this here, the thread is not about politics.

I do understand you, but i wont say im "sorry" for saying what i did; as where i live, its normal to perceive vaping as both "vaping" and "smoking".

I mean, i have been vaping for 5 months now - but i have been smoking for 5 months also. Depends on who asks, and how fast i answer. Sometimes it slips my mind. But isnt that the beautiful thing of it all? That this is SO good, you sometimes DO confuse it with actual smoking - without the hazards.

hmmm...correct me if im wrong Mik...but lose the USB function, and isnt it really just another standard battery holder like so many others already on the market?

wasnt the usb feature its unique selling point,or am i missing something here?

I was thinking that. It was a selling point that sold me on the Janty stick in the first place. I've have it for months now and having never changed the battery once that is a major plus.

Hey guys,

I do know what you mean, but i dont quite agree.

First and foremost this is not an E-cigarette. This is a manual E-Cigar. Or atleast its more in that area. This is designed for having something feel luxurious, look elegant, and vape very good. Yes, there are others out there who make products that contain a battery and no USB, so whats the difference.

Well, this one for starters in my eyes, and i bet alot of other peoples eyes, look elegant, and doesnt show its atomizer. It has built in cut-off like the Jantystick, which alot (if any) other models have.

Also, we discussed back and forth and the ultimatum came to this:

1) Keep USB, make new total length of the Baby J from 15 cm ( as it is now ) to 17.5 cm............ That is a VERY long. Only to keep USB, and let you able to unscrew the battery also. Mind you, if we were to stick the battery on it, like it is now, we could keep it at 15 cm - but this means if your battery dies = your Baby J essentially dies. Also, the battery of the 17.5cm long model would be around 600 mAH.

All of this is due to USB and other stuff taking up space.

2) The thing we are doing now: Keep Baby J at 15cm (maybe expand a small bit ), - but now you are able to put in 14500 type AA battery, and 16500 type AA battery. You will have to charge these with an external charger - and while this might seem cumbersome, you have to remember that the charger will take two batteries at once - and the 14500 has 900 mAH, and the 16500 has 1000 mAH. This is enough for vaping an entire day easily.

This has another positive thing to it, - next year if we do decide to make a high power option for the Baby J, we can make our own battery and sell that to you : That battery now has the "space" to become quite good. And because we dont charge it via USB, this is now an easy way of expanding the Baby J.

So.. yes, - i totally agree USB would have been preferred, but at the same time i dont feel its that much of a loss, since the battery mAH is now 900 mAH + in very accessible batteries that most of our customers have quite a few of.

I hope you understand - its not easy for me either to cut down some of the features i planned and designed for, but it is a better alternative, and i still believe that people will pay something for design also. I know I will - to me its extremely important as the thing im vaping on, is what represents me to the people i meet, friends, family. They will associate me with this thing, - so it better look nice.

/Mik

Will the baby J in a 510 version have a resistor between the batt and the atomizer like the 510 adapters? That would greatly influence my purchase decision.

Hey.

The Baby J is born as a 801 device, meaning that if you do wish to smoke dura atomisers on it, you will have to purchase a dura adaptor for 801 threads. And i do believe this makes you able to purchase one with or without resistors, depending on where you buy it from; so its actually up to you!

Mik

Duh on me- that never dawned on me. I keep thinking 'order as an 801 or a 901 or a 510' blah blah. I'm happy with the stick as an 801 device (much easier to take to work cuz it's so 'palmable'- and the baby J would do that well too. I wouldn't mind not having USB on the Baby J at all in that regard as a "grab and go" with good battery life.

Hey Steven.rn

True, the usb is nice, but i think we will have to incorporate that in a v2 release sometime.

For now, i think alot of people wants something that is easy, lasts a long time and looks good.

And with 900 or 1000 mAH batteries, this will solve alot. Alot of people have those at home - and if not we sell them cheap.

The charger will charge two at the same time in about 1.5 hours - but each will last, approximately 6-10 hours - depending on how hard you vape. So all in all, i think thats a very good solution.

Speaking of which, im posting a new sticky - keep an eye out, its interesting!
