*If* the battery life truly is what is been reported with the eGo, and *if* the tesla filter is nearly as good as Mik's results, or if we fit a cartomizer on the eGo -- are we looking at the holy grail of PVs? Can we finally put a single device in our shirt pocket and walk out the door to face the day? Or simply outfit two eGos and have a security blanket?

I sort of wish I started vaping today instead of 7 months ago. LOL

When I leave the house now, all i need is my eGo plus the extra battery and a small bottle of juice. I do carry a couple of extra attys(1 cleaned & 1 brand new) just in case because you never know with attys..........and that's it.

Ah Richie. That we're not just starting our vaping voyage is a good thing. Better able to weigh and consider new devices!

Between what I've gathered here and a similar conversation with elendil and kelemvor, the battery performance per charge sounds as though it will be a slight improvement in performance over what I'm currently getting with off the shelf 16340's.

Holy Grail, doubt it exists. But the intended service life of the batteries along with the $85 price-point along with the overall aesthetics of the thing... as a package this is looking promising.

Just have to see how I fare after doing my taxes.

Could be - i know that i left today for a meeting, which lasted from 9 am, till 15:00 - and i only brought my eGo + the tesla filter, seated inside. Now, i didnt smoke at the meeting, until... 2 hours into it - then i gave hell, and just puffed away when i felt like it - and .. well im back home now, and not dry on anything.

Ofcourse, if i was to leave for something for a longer period of time, id bring more stuff, but as it is now with the combo of the eGo + tesla filter, im comfy enough to just bring the eGo with the filter inside, for anything i do, that has a span of 3-5 hours... and its quite a relief to be honest.

So yea - lets hope this system gets us all on the right track!

And no - i cant say anymore about the filter yet - trust me, you guys will be the first to know ;)

i got my Ego on the 30th and it didnt die on me or lose vap production for three days. wow. bear in mind however that im not a heavy vaporer. i usually just vape for 10 or so mins every hour. i refill or replace a cart about three times a day.

but non the less 3 days is friggin insane. also i was vaping a little more than usualy seeing as it was new years and i stayed pretty trashed from late the 30th long into the new year.

just wanted to say thank you janty for such an awesome design. i already loved the 510 on vapor production, and taste i just hated carring around the charging case when i was traveling (i do mucho traveling), but the ego fixed the batt life problem and has made significant improvment on overall taste and vapor.

the next test will be to see how many charges the ego carries before dying on me like all my standard 510 batts have done.

much easier on the eyes than the xl510 batts and i love being able to stand it on its head. now if only i could get this kind of batt life out of my iphone id be set

Haha, i wish my iphone could last that long too =)

As a sidenote, remember it is designed to also be put down on its side, - and wont roll off the table due to its slightly protruding body!

- And im happy you like it! ;)

I think the general consensus is that the 510 / DURA atomizer which the eGo utilizes gives more analogue-type warmth and taste than the 801 classic atomizer that the Baby J will use, which in turn then gives more vapor.

That sounds great! Interesting, too, because I've always read that the 510 attys are the worst for flavour. But they're not running on the eGo. I need the best flavour possible, because I use 0 nic and vape for flavour. (Well, and plumes of vapour is nice as well.)

Looks like an eGo may be my next device. I will wait for the Tesla to come out first, though. :nun:

Huh? where did you read that? I do believe if you ask everyone on this board, 97% of them will say that the 510/DURA atomizer gives more flavor than any other atomizer. The only problem with these atomizers have been their size in terms of dripping, and for some of them also build quality (which seems to not be such a big issue now ) - but to my knowledge this is THE prefered atomizer, for taste - the 801 for vapor production.

I read it on a number of threads when I was looking for an e-cig. Searching the newer threads, I notice that most people say the 510 has good flavor. I guess it's all rather subjective*, so it's not going to put me off the lovely eGo. I don't want to put anybody off.

*Today, I used my 401, which I hadn't puffed on for a few weeks, took some nice slow drags, and it tasted really nice. WTH?

1) No - we didnt miss out on anything - the lack of USB is why the eGo could be so small and sleek - and have great battery life. If we had to add USB charging, it would have been a bigger device - or the same size device, with weaker battery. So we did exactly what we wanted to do - and it seems that people are agreeing with us on this, now that they have it - and they understand just how long it lasts.

2) We might make a version with USB charging - more on this to come - however, it will either be longer, - or the same size, with a smaller battery. We still think however that people will be split almost in half, by who wants one with usb ( and weaker battery or longer length ) and those who wants it as it is now, due to sleekness, and performance.

Sorry Mik - didn't want to come off so flippant! It's just my opinion. I'm sure you guys considered it and made the decision to forgo it - and it looks like the current crop of buyers agree. The usb is a big deal to me personally because I vape in the car like a madman and spend alot of time on daily commute. I use my JS for this but still am looking to find that one device for all my needs.

BTW - I'd be cool with an eGo that wa a bit longer and had the USB in it, Wouldn't want to have a smaller batt though.

Oh no - im not angry, or anything like that - i hope you didnt read my post like it.. text is easy to misinterpret ;)

I do understand you, but even the most hardcore vapers here get 7 hours+ out of a battery life from what i can read - if thats not enough for your commute.. ;) hehe..

But - ill post more info once i can ofcourse, if/when anything updates with the eGo, or Baby J!

Just got 15hrs off my last battery. I'm using the 510 to 901 Altsmoke adapter so I wonder if it somehow prolonged the battery life. It's the first time the battery made it over the 10hr mark.

Nope. It has nothing to do with the adapter and everything to do with the difference between the resistance and current draw of the two atypical attys. It makes sense that the 901 would last longer than the 510 because the 510 draws more current. A 5 hour difference *is* surprising though.

As I continue to waffle between the eGo and JS:

Is the connection polarity on the eGo the same as the 510? And if so, could I use my (numerous) 510 chargers with it?

Aside from the obvious, being able to use of the rest of my 510 hardware is the most attractive part of the eGo for me.

Of course, then there's the JS vape-and-charge feature. And that slick v3 body.

Thanks!

I believe you can charge eGo batteries anywhere, but not any battery on the eGo charger. The eGo charger is quite powerful and could cause damage to other batteries. Also because the eGo charger is more powerful than most alternatives I believe it will take a long time to charge an eGo battery on a charger other than the supplied one.

Have a look in this thread: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/jantyusa/58467-janty-multichargers.html it might be useful to you in more ways than one
