Well one thing to consider is the mA that the usb hub is pushing.

The wall charger that comes from Janty has a output of 5 volts and 500 mA, if your usb hub is pushing less then 500mA then it will take allot longer to charge your battery in the hub.

The USB connector provides a single 5 volt wire from which connected USB devices may power themselves. A given segment of the bus is specified to deliver up to 500 mA. This is often enough to power several devices, although this budget must be shared among all devices downstream of an unpowered hub. A bus-powered device may use as much of that power as allowed by the port it is plugged into.

So if you are using other USB devices on the hub, you are reducing the mA power that the battery can use to charge.

USB power usage:

Bus-powered hubs: Draw Max 100 mA at power up and 500 mA normally.
Self-powered hubs: Draw Max 100 mA, must supply 500 mA to each port.
Low power, bus-powered functions: Draw Max 100 mA.
High power, bus-powered functions: Self-powered hubs: Draw Max 100 mA, must supply 500 mA to each port.
Self-powered functions: Draw Max 100 mA.
Suspended device: Max 0.5 mA

Your best bet will be to get another Janty wall charger and use the USB in that.

It would be like charging a eGo battery in a Dura charger if you had a extender adapter for that, since the mA output is lett it takes allot longer to charge, and could possibly stress the charging circuit in the charger.

Hope that helps.

My girlfriend got pulled over by the great and wise Utah Highway Patrol when seeing her use her eGo in the car, I guess he jumped right out of his cruiser and ran right up to the window and pointed at her eGo and asked if it was a new type of crack pipe ROFL!

She took it all apart and explained every piece and the e-juice... and then after 10 minutes of explaining it ended up giving the patrolman the JantyUSA website so he could get himself a eGo lol.

Just goes to show that tolerance and understanding come with education.

whats the difference between RY4 and RY4 X???

INTRODUCTION PRICE: 16.95 - We will only carry this price for a limited time, so get it while you can!
The all NEW RY4 X liquid is based off of our standard RY4 flavor. RY4 X provides a smoother and subtle flavor, making this an excellent choice for your go-to flavor!
This liquid is based on both PG and VG, giving it both a great throat hit, as well as massive vapor.
This exclusive liquid is ONLY available through Janty.

Just a quick follow up here...it took a while but we finally got everything straightened out with my latest order! I'm sitting in my living room at the moment surrounded by carts, liquids and various bits of hardware and I feel just like a kid in a candy store...

Thanks again to JantyUSA for their comprehensive follow through - uncontrollable delays aside, it's become very clear to me this is a company that truly cares about their customers!

I was just wondering if there have been many issues with the eGo batteries?

My girlfriend and I both got eGo starter kits, and I got an additional auto battery and now all but 1 of the batteries have been sent back for warranty replacement.

There is now a article on the Janty World website saying that you should never leave a battery left charging unattended, and you should not leave a atomizer plugged in overnight unattended?!?

I carry the eGo in my pocket fully assembled, and due to the fact I move around at work allot, it spends allot of time on my desk unattended fully assembled.

My girlfriend and I often charge multiple batteries as we sleep, are we in danger?

I really do not have the time to babysit a charging battery, I really would like to know that my Janty products are safe to use.

Is Janty having widespread issues with it's eGo batteries?

Are there safety issues with eGo batteries?

The last thing I want is to have one of these things blow up or start a fire in my home, or at work, so am I safe using my eGo?

I used my auto battery for about a week and a half before it died.

Ethan said that he would gladly swap it out for a manual battery, but I cannot help but think that perhaps there is some faulty electronics at play here, considering that I have 2 kissbox sets that have worked for longer, and even my original 510 and 901 set's that are carrying me through the wait for my replacements.

Don't get me wrong, I think the eGo is wonderful, but I am not so happy about having to get replacements so soon.

Just another piece of data to add to the above post.

Today my wife was an unfortunate "victim" of the basic design of the eGo/Tornado control circuitry. She has been using cartomizers on her Tornado, and for an unknown reason one of the cartos dropped to a bit below .5Ω after the third or fourth refill. Externally I can see no obvious signs as to why this happened, so my guess would be an internal "near short" of the coil or supporting wiring. Anyway.... after she put the carto back on her Tornado, she got one nice vape of vapor and then the battery promptly went "dead". The button light would still illuminate.. but no vapor.

She assumed that it was a bad connection, or something amiss with the carto, so she put it on her other charged Tornado battery. She got a very nice hit off of it, but when she released the button the sizzling continued (LED was off). She quickly unscrewed the cartomizer. Upon further inspection, this battery is "stuck on".. and if you put a cart or atomizer on the unit it will immediately heat up... without the button being pressed or the LED illuminating.

So in a period of about 2 minutes, one bad carto cost her two Tornado batteries.

Ouch!

Any batery manufacturer that makes say 100,000 batteries ( take an automotive battery manufacturer for example ) will have defective batteries in the run, say 95% are good and 5% are bad. Look at a car battery, you could get one that last for 1 year you could get one that lasy for 5 years, enough said.. Mic and Ethan are both good dudes, they will take care of you, there customer service is awesome, take it from someone that had an issue, it was handled pronto.!!!

@ scottbee,

That sounds EXACTLY like what happened with my three dead ego batts! I hope this problem isnt starting to gget out of hand. Thank god we have a great company to handle it... can you imagine if this were to happen elsewhere? There would be a lot of ...... off customers!

I have been vaping since Sept 09, and have purchased many different PV's and have never experienced such rapid failure with any of the products I purchased before.

I guess out of 100 batteries produced I got 2 manual eGo kits where 3 of the 4 manual batteries failed, and the one auto battery failed as well... If I sold a customer 2 kit's at 80 bucks a piece and they both pretty much failed, I think I would be shipping them replacements ASAP, that was not the case here...

I have had batteries just die before, or atty's go cold, but none that automatically fired and would not stop.

Considering the fact that I had one fry in my hands, (I promptly removed the cone and atty, and saved the atty but the battery was fried) and my girlfriend had one fry in her hands which took the atty out at the same time, I think that gives me some room for concern.

If you put a car battery in your car and it fry’s your car’s electrical system, and then the other one starts to fry your car after install, you are going to really question the manufacturer and hope for some expedited means of correcting the issue.

So far nothing from Ethan on my replacements, nor a response to my concern from either of them, that is a bit disturbing to me.

So I am waiting for my 4 replacement batteries and 2 atty's which according to Ethan should have shipped yesterday, I have yet to receive any confirmation on this or a tracking number, and as I wait my warranty period dwindles away, my atty's have spent the majority of their warranty period in a defective state thus far, how good is a 6 month warranty if you wait a month + for the replacement part shortly after receiving it?

I love using my eGo, it is the best preforming PV I have had to date, but with the reliability issues, no stock for warranty replacement, and waiting to use my 160 dollar investments, my patience wore thin a while ago…

People can tout about excellent customer service all they want but I have not seen any to this point, I have not seen any efforts to go a bit further for me, anything to make up for all the time I have been without my new PV's, just fast response to email, but no above nor beyond efforts to resolve my issues.

I guess in some ways it IS a backhanded testimonial for Janty.

Although the battery design is the same, you might notice that I said she lost two Tornado batteries. Had they been eGo batteries we would be in a much better place right now!
