You may also be falling prey to another common problem with V2 sticks, not screwing the atomizer in fully. You may be tightening it sufficiently to make an electrical connection, but not fully enough to create as much of a seal you need to get good draw characteristics. The general rule of thumb with new sticks: screw it in until you think it's tight enough, then screw it in some more. Takes a while to break them in, from my experience.
I just bought a spare (unbranded) stick body from China, and it came with a straight head screw slot as well, so that is no longer a differentiating feature of V1 vs V2. If you bought it recently (which you have), you have a V2.
The stick definitely does not come with an AC charger. I bought one as an accessory but have never used it in 6 months. vape and charge buddy!
