Would you Like to see the eGo with color options

  • Yes, I would buy a colored ego over what is available right now.

  • No, I am satisfied with the current options.

Parked/Mik, are you sure about the protected battery? It doesn't look like a protected 10440 and the new size of the V3 seems like it would prevent a protected 10440 from being used, since the protected 10440 is a little longer than the unprotected. Not that you should need a protected battery in the stick, since it has onboard protection, right?

It has onboard protection yes - and the battery is the exact same as in the old sticks, from what i understand.

Color me wrong then I guess. I was reading another thread a while ago where the upshot was that the protected batteries were slightly longer than the unprotected version, due, apparently, to the inclusion of the circuitry. Not sure how they can be the same size and be protected and be the same storage capacity, but I guess there are bigger mysteries than that in the world.

I'd sure like to be able to order a V3 though.

They're not the same capacity. The protected ones say 320 mAh and the unprotected say 360 mAh. So you're losing some capacity with the new protected batteries.
Trustfire makes a protected 10440 that is a little longer and rated at 350 mAh but they won't fit in the stick. So it seems the unprotected 10440 batteries are your best bet in the stick since the stick already has protection.

Heaven Gifts has them in stock at a good price. I have their version of the V2 as well as a V2 from Janty. They are identical except for the absence of the Janty logo.

I just ordered the V3 from H-G and expect the higher protrusion of the atty to work better with the 510 and 901 adapters (also available from H-G). The adapters were almost flush on the V2 and thus very difficult to use.

Mystery solved, thanks.
