well its not my first coil lol. but it is my first set of dual micro coils. sorry wasnt trying to slip one by anyone. :) i have never done a micro coil before and certainly not a dual set. But i use a 1/16th tack nail and just went with it. I threaded it with cotton... and DAMN does this thing hit like a dream. i have no complaints what so ever... i might have to build a micro for my hybrid...... LOL!

Well, I have my RM2 vaping pretty good now, so I was getting board. I decided to try a dual coil setup on one of my old Octopi. I have the original air channel plugged, and drilled two 1/16" air holes in the cap. I should have taken a pic before wicking it, but once I started working on it I didn't stop until it was all juiced up.

I used 32g kanthal, 11 wraps, with cotton ball wick. Came out to 1.06 ohms. I have it mounted on my MVP so I could crank it up to 5 volts. I tested it with 0mg, 50/50 unflavored juice just to see how much vapor I could get. Quite a bit, but still not a show stopper like you see on the web. Fun to play with, but no REO Grand/RM2.

I've noticed that the older REOs seem to all be anodized aluminum, and the newer ones are mostly black wrinkle painted. Does anybody know if the finish on the PVs changes with each generation? Or does it change when new batches are produced. I'm curious because I want to get a REO Mini someday, and am wondering what kind of finish will be on it. My current Grand is black wrinkle body with metallic red door. I kinda like the anodized ones, though.

Robert use to send out the REO's for anodizing. He was stuck with batches that did not pass his tolerance for perfection. Many times he switched places trying to find the "right" place.

Finally he made the decision to do the finishing in shop himself.

The powder coated REO's have replaced many of the anodized. He did state once that only a few colors would be available as anodized.

Only Robert himself can say what the future holds for anodized as a REO finish.

Now that you mention it, I seem to remember this mentioned in an older post or video. OK, so black wrinkle/some_color_to_be_determined_at_a_later_date Mini it is. :p

There are other colors besides the black wrinkle. Robert just bought the olive drab. I think he is trying to keep up stock with the black wrinkle since it is so very popular!

He won't let us that love different colors get stuck with one finish!

BTW I did notice that the Mini is no longer listed on Reosmods. Only the Mini 2.1

I should have said Mini 2.1. I like the 18490/18500 batt better, anyway.

BTW, I wrapped the coils on a needle cap like Super_X recommended. Works great.

My 8/9 yields around .6, so yeah... Waffles must be pretty hot and tasty at .4ish

Cool! I'm glad you like it! 6/7 wrap . . . . putting Waffles in the .4Ω department? (I was doing a solid 8 or an 8/9 wrap)

Yep, 0.4 ohms on the spot (can't seem to get my Fluke to go into precise mode at the moment). I used to love going for a cooler vape with huge air holes (had 2x 7/16 on my Igo-W before lol) but I'm loving this with a 1/16th airhole. This Reo just keeps getting better and better!
