seeing as Reo metal b/f's have been super popular (thousands) way before current mechanical devices were all the rage, there is always one or two popping up in the classies.
These Reo are indestructible, and Rob will service them for a pittance if needed. 'I picked my last Reo Grand up for about $80 (Silver with blue door...small ding in the blue door, but it's all about the vape :)
thanks guys! im sure ill be picking one up within the next week.

Hey Brady! It's Saige. Sorry that I ruined your entire vaping existence. I won't let you try any more of my micro coils from now on. :p

Seriously dude, buy a REO you won't be sorry. And I can show you how I wrap my coils some day. It is pretty easy, and you get the hang of it quickly.

Thanks Saige! Thanks to you I just pulled the trigger on a metallic red REO Grand, an RM2 and some kanthal! I need to pick up some 18650 batteries as well.

I would get the AW 1600mah 18650's instead. They are a much better choice for a mech. My AW 2000's have worked OK, I have just been waiting to pull the trigger on some 1600's. I figure, I have 2 cars in my driveway that need motor swaps done on them, and I probably shouldn't be spending all my money on vaping stuff...

What gauge kanthal do you guys prefer?

I think 30 ga is the easiest all round to work with for around 1.5 ohm, and a little above and below. And it is much stronger and holds its shape better than 32. Sub ohm I'd go with <30 ga. All I have is 28 but none of my juices do well sub ohm. I'd still stick with 30 for starters even if going above 2.0 ohms. If using an RM2 you have plenty of room for a bunch of coils for > 2.0 ohm. Main things I dislike about 32ga are it's easier to break the wire screwing down a post screw, when it gets some age on it from use and dryburns it is easier to break between coil and post, and, as I said, it just doesn't hold its shape as well manipulating it.

I'm going to revisit my 28 ga Kanthal now that I'm using RM2s and micro-coils. Will have some spare time in hotel working out of town this week. Using RBAs other than RM2s and premicrocoil were not the best platform for > 1 ohm coils using 28.

I'm also looking forward to breaking out the colored Hornets that are so cute on matching colored Minis and decking them out with microcoils and cotton. Poor little things (and others) have been so neglected. (Gold cap Hornet for Mini Woodvils that have CCs too small for RM2.)

I've used 28, 29, 30, and 32 gage wire, for the 1.5 - 1.6 ohm micro coils, I'm liking the 29, I get another wrap or two more then the 30 ga and it's slightly more durable.
When I wrap a 1.5 ohm with 28 gage it takes a second to heat up, I'm sure its great for lower resistance.
Even though I've tried some low resistance I just prefer the 1.5 range, plenty vapor for me and I get a full day out of a battery.

:)
