I wouldn't tell anyone to abandon their Kanthal and replace it with Nochrome but I would say give it a try next time you order wire.

This is good because my 100ft just came in last week!

Feels so weird not to be ordering stuff every week anymore. Seems like I was always ordering the next best atty, and trying different setups. Since finding the RM2 and this micro coil thread, now it's just ordering juice once a month.

Consistency has always been the thing lacking in my vaping experience. I think I can finally say I'm there now

Flavor seems like it may just be a little cleaner, maybe. With Kanthal and cotton flavor was always fantastic, I never felt like the Kanthal added anything. Nichrome seems to be just as good or better. I wouldn't tell anyone to abandon their Kanthal and replace it with Nochrome but I would say give it a try next time you order wire.

I just put in an order for 100ft 26g and 28g Nichrome. Mostly because Temco is backordered on Kanthal in both of those gauges right now. I am excited to try it out. Plus I only have like 6 feet left of my 28g Kanthal so it will be nice to have so much wire on hand and not have to worry about it.

I know I've mentioned it a thousand times . Nichrome is lower in resistance than Kanthal. Your 28 N = 27 K. And your 26 N = 25 K.

I just got my wire in the mail today and am ready to try and make my first micro coil. Does there need to be a gap between each wrap? Also, how many wraps should I put on each coil? I need to do 2 because my rba is a Phoenix. Any and all advice is greatly appreciated.

I am thinking of trying two strands of 30g K twisted together. I think the twisting will about double the surface area. My question is will it work in the mini configuration, and what should I expect for resistance? I am looking to be around 2 ohms.

Malkuth, two strands will cut your resistance in half (double the traffic, half the jam).

well, If the cap is drilled with 2 air holes, ok; but you don't need to start with dual just cause there's 3 posts. (just pic one of the negatives/ outside ones for a single)

so, If a single wire/coil is 10 wraps of 30 gauge, and that nets . . . . oh, say 2Ω (about). Then you would need to wrap BOTH wires 20X


Because each coil would be 4Ω and together they would net 1/2, or 2Ω

That's good to know. Then I can add a second one after I get a little better at making them?

Better to start with a single coil. With duals it easy to way undershoot the resistance you were aiming for. Could cause a problem with your battery or spring. Also with one coil you don't have to worry about getting coils identical so they are balanced.

edit: What attys do you have that are setup for duals and will fit in the Reo?
