I've had this experience with cotton yarn. It has happened with rolled cotton if I try to stuff too much into the coil bore. The trick is to put in a piece that is just smaller than the core and allow it to expand to fit.
Cotton turns black with all of the juices I vape (NETs). Vapes fine. Just cahange it when the flavor drops off.No matter what I do the cotton turns black with the Bobas.
I am thinking cotton doesn't work with BB.
How do you guys get the cotton wick out of the coil without deforming the coil? I mean, the cotton is still wet and hence swollen. Do you trim one side and just pull it out from the other side, or do you just yank out the whole cotton?
I'm trying micro coils with cotton on kanger t3 and protank. If the cotton wick is not thick enough, it would naturally flood. Hence the cotton wick has to be thicker. I don't get dry hits, but am just wondering what's the simplest way to get the wick out without deforming the coils.
What I do now is to wash the head and let it dry, thereby shrinking the cotton and allowing me to pull it out slowly with a screwing motion, keeping the coils intact.

The cotton will fall apart in about 2 days anyway - it's easy to remove. In fact one dry hit and it's goodnight Vienna!
What i recommend is xc-116, ceramic wick. It's expensive, $7 a foot at bigtexvapor - but it can be dry burned to clean your coil and i get easily 2 weeks from it. i use about an inch of it to make an "S" shaped wick in an RM2 at any time.

Last night I barely singed it. Just to see I added a few more drops & hit it again. To my surprise I no longer tasted any burnt cotton unlike other times when I have singed cotton. I just changed the wick this morning & the cotton was barely singed. Usually when I singe cotton I can tell a big different in wicking. After I changed the wick I noticed no difference at all. Guess I just got lucky on that wick.
Thread your cotton through a little farther the cut off the rat tail. You don't need big balls of it, less is usually better as long as it keeps up with the coil. How do you folks get your cotton even on both sides? I can never get more than a little rat-tail on the side I thread in no matter how much I keep twisting the cotton. It seems to work ok, especially after I got rid of the massive tail I had on my first one.
