lol I'm new to the micro thing myself but the way I see it is wire is cheap and vaping nirvana is one step closer with the reo in hand. It's only a matter of time before someone stumbles across perfection on the coil to match it.
I know but ......damn it, I thought I already had.
Is there no end to this madness?:)

Today it finally hit me, my genesis atomizers need to go. After trying various wick materials, coil arrangements, tilting techniques, etc., etc., I realized I have been chasing the performance that I get reliably now from my Reo! No use fiddling with these persnickety tubesteak toppers any longer! Should net enough for about half of my next Reo!:2cool:

Mystery to me how these RM2 screws seem to loosen up on their own. Had a disappointing vape this morning, so I gave the Grand a bath, re-wicked, Noaloxed the firing pin and all to no avail. Was about to build a new coil and decided I should check my screws. Yup, one was finger-loose. Evidently mod elves come into my room at night and mess with me. It's the only reasonable answer.:)

Might have something to do with the constant heating and cooling??? Its an easy issue to remedy, but I wish there were some way to tighten and LOCK in the RES wire, without crushing or snapping it.

That's one of the reasons I leave the trimmed side of my coil legs long enough to wrap them up over the top of the screws then push the end down into the slot on top

The screw heads are out of focus in this shot but here it is anyways..

Does it change the resistance?

I get that, but for some reason all that extra wire bothers me. Might be my OCD. My preferred method has been tighten screws, then gently pull and spin excess wire till it snaps off cleanly. Perfectly doable with 28 AWG Kanthal, but obviously if/when the screw does come loose you are never assured that tightening it down wont unseat the wire just a bit.

I've kinda met you half way, leaving maybe 2~3mm exposed on the opposite side of the post and bending it up flush against it. Can't see it unless I try real hard...

That still leaves the possibility of over tightening, and snapping the wire all together. Been guilty of that a few times myself!
