I'll tell you what I've been doing. This is pure coincidence, in that I wasn't having sweetness issues, per se. But its food for thought, maybe. I recently decided to try a simple DIY. I was wanting to try unflavored anyway, so what the heck. I'm enjoying the unflavored; but as an alternative, not an ADV. I vape it about 1/3 of the time.

ANYWAY, I started cutting my flavored juices by 1/2 with my unflavored mix. Its very good that way. And, hey!, it'll cut any sweetness issues in 1/2 instantly.

My mix is 100mg nic in PG, which I cut to my nic level with VG. so its a VG heavy mix. Very simple to do!

I am slowly coming to the conclusion that the RM2 and micro-coils are a "sweet" combination. The micro generates alot of heat, and the ceramic base reflects that heat and cooks some extra juice instead of absorbing said heat into the metal of the atty. I think that these contribute to the sweet factor.

I diy, if juice is to sweet I just add a little TPA Sour 20%, 1 or 2 drops per 6ml and it works like charm. I just add the 1or 2 drops into my 6ml Reo Grand bottle and shake. Good Luck. I tweak a lot of recipes in the 6ml bottle.

Okay, guys. Had to get some Rene 41.....had to try it.....wanted to keep up with the big kids.....I HATE it. It's so hard to work with....and I hate ruining a pair of perfectly good scissors for a vape that I personally don't find any better than I can get from my Kanthal A. Soooo.....I have enough that anyone who wants to try it, PM me and I'll mail you a foot or two. That way you can try for yourself without having to buy any. If you like it, then you can go for it.

My only real beef with it is that it's just tooooo stiff and besides, I like the vape I'm getting with all my Kanthal just fine. Come take this off my hands. I have 10 feet (minus one wick) so there's plenty for anyone who wants some.

Jan, that is so sweet of you! Making lemonade :)

I wouldn't be so nice about it. I'd probably waltz right on over to that orangutan's house and pee on his doorstep . . . . that's what I'd do! . . . . In fact, I think I might just do that! . . . on shear principle. :| . . . . Crazy monkey with his foolish ideas.

Well....we're all a bunch of crazies....admit it. I had to try it....what if I were missing out on something? Just because I have found vaping nirvana and can't even imagine a better vape than a REO and an RM2 with my regular little Kanthal-A micro-coils.....who knows.....there may be a better vape out there. And heaven forbid you guys leave me in the dust!! So....got some, tried it, now (like you said) lemonade stand time.

I know there are a few who would like to try it.....please come forward.

EDIT: This is my own fault....what I get for being a "follower." My mama done tol' me......!! Let's just hope you guys don't go jump off a cliff.......

I'm glad you tried it! And yeah, it is seriously hard to wrap! And, yep, those of us who think its better think its just a teensie bit better. Anyhoo, that is very sweet of you!

A teensie bit is not enough for me. I like to fiddle, but I also like to find something I love then relax and enjoy it. That's where I am now.......HOWEVER, johni is sending me some Nichrome.....here we go again. It's fun to try new stuff, but I just knew I would NOT be using this Rene 41, so I thought I should offer it up while it's still "hot" instead of sitting on it thinking I might grow to like it. LOL

I have a drawer full of stuff that I didn't really like at the time (but had to try it) but thought I might like it at some time in the future. This industry moves so fast that things become obsolete or "out" of favor pretty quickly. Ever heard of a VapeMate? $59 bucks....look it up. Ha. I have one if you know of anyone who needs one. :)

$59 hmmmmmm. I bet if you put it in the classifieds for trade you might get offered something equally useful!

Yeh....can you believe? Of course, that was back before any kind of tanks were around. It really worked (looked pretty funny, but hey....) but tanks came out shortly thereafter, and there went that. It's SS, solid as a rock, and I think they are actually still selling them (superTmanufacturing).....but I can't imagine anyone is buying them. I probably couldn't give it away now. Should have unloaded it way back (3 years ago) when it was still one of the going things. Missed my window of opportunity.

Save me a smidge of that Rene 41 Jan, please? You know I have to try it out. Right? ;)

When are you coming over for dinner and REO chat?

You got it, Ratman! You won't like it......or, well...maybe you will. Anyway, we DO need to get together. Retirement is upon me, so pretty soon I should have time on my hands. I probably already do, but I haven't realized it yet. LOL

Okay....that's the last of it. The free Rene 41 is gone. Thanks for taking this off my hands, y'all.

I'm loving the RM2 and building my own coils. I've been getting more brave and trying lower ohmages. My last re-coil was 10 wraps of 27 ga. Kanthol on a 17 g. leur lock needle resulting in a 1.0 ohm atty. Its a killer vape but for the past two mornings, I've gotten up at 2 AM attempting to get ready for another workday, making coffee, sitting on the john and promptly burnt my wick in half. Yes, I know I didn't keep it wet enough for a 1.0 ohm vape. I'd previously been ok with 1.5 and 1.3 ohm coils in my early morning groggy state but 1.0 ohm is apparently just a bit beyond my ability to adjust for in a late night/early morning stupor. Today I decided that I was better off staying at 1.3 ohms or above.

I run my RM2 around 1 ohm. To avoid burnt hits, I squonk it first every time I pick it up. Three hits, squonk again. Far better to be overwetted than dry.

Good idea. Remembering that would probably solve my problem as long as I didn't see anything shiny along the way.:)
