Welp, I decided I'd give this a try, even though I was skeptical about it working. I thought, "How can higher resistance equal better vapor and flavor on an unregulated mod?". This thread promised it was possible, and I was bored so I tried it.
I wrapped 11 wraps of 30g kanthal around a blunt syringe needle. Metered out at 1.5 ohms on my Reomizer 2.0. I threaded a doubled over bamboo crochet thread through it, wetted it and gave it a vape.
I wouldn't say it is louder than a regular coil, but there is more sound going on for sure. YES, it does give better vapor! Flavor seems about the same to me, but I've been vaping this flavor every day for so long I don't even know if I'm tasting it at all anymore.
So... better battery life and better vapor? I'm sold.
I don't get how it works, though. Is it because the coil is so tight and bunched up that it heats up a lot faster?
