I actually had it in the back of my mind as the final Q3 laps started that Rosberg could have a "shunt" and keep pole. However, the way it played out, I think it could have been a really honest mistake on his part. Either way, he got away with it. I'm hoping for a good show tomorrow.

I think Rosberg has been underrated over the years. He's quick but he never had the machinery to be truly competitive. If the fight is between him and Lewis, I'll be vying for Nico.

I must say I'm not a big fan of any of the drivers on the grid this year. I'm still hung up on Senna, Schumacher and Hakkinen I guess. But Ricciardo is starting to warm up to me. I think that kid has potential. :)

Looks like Nico learned a thing or two from Michael lol. Remember when Schumacher parked his car by the pit entrance at Monaco?

Plus the team when Schuey couldn't quite get enough right lock and "accidently" touched the Armco on the final corner stopping anyone else beating the pole time ;)

I love the .....ing between the two Mercs though, really does amuse me. Thought they were gonna have a scrap at the end of the race

The high points for me:

Kimi was kicking ... for a bit.

Vettel - LOL. He's getting webber'ed.

Sutil was also on a tear for a bit.

And Bianchi - nice run but i think he got penalized out of the points?

Glorious weather.

As for those little biatches that finished first and second, well, not a high point for me. They are fast becoming my least favorite drivers :)

Haha I like how this can become an official term. :D "You just got Webber'ed bro..." Ouch! :D

Edit: Oh I think Bianchi still stayed in the points after the penalty. I think he was P9 before and ended up P10 after the penalty was applied.

That was a pretty crafty little gimmick that ROS pulled. Wouldn't surprise me to see similar stunts pulled in the final couple of minutes of future Q1s by the leading driver especially when concerned that his teammate will best him. I think it was choreographed and if it wasn't that time it will be in the future. :)
I think if this happens a couple more times, you might see the FIA issue a rule along the lines of "you cause a yellow during qualifying, we take away your fastest lap"

It's almost here, who will win the Canadian grand prix this year? Most memorable Canadian race to me...

The race of Jenson Button’s life, Montreal, 2011
The 2011 race in Canada had everything - heavy rain, safety cars, more rain, a lengthy delay, a host of on-track clashes and loads of overtaking including a last-lap change of lead. The man in the thick of all the action was McLaren’s Jenson Button (pictured right, looking ecstatic) who tangled with team mate Lewis Hamilton, received a drive-through penalty and occupied every position on track in a chaotic race which was only settled halfway around the final lap when the Englishman’s relentless pursuit of long-time leader Sebastian Vettel (pictured left, with a disbelieving look on his face) pressured the German into an uncharacteristic error. In a word: epic.

How did you miss that season? Is that the year your came up with the micro coil?

LoL :). No, I was really preoccupied with my little kids and work from like 2003 till the 2102 season. I also didn't have a DVR until 2012.

Now I DVR everything and watch it all :)

I remember that race! I was standing up, jumping, cheering Button on in my living room at the middle of the night. I'm about 12 hours ahead of the East Coast so the race was in the wee hours of the morning for me. The changing conditions and the fact that he drove very well when he needed to played into Jenson's hands. It was an epic and well deserved win!

I may be in a different team now but I still help Fernando gain a few spots.

^ that's a good way of looking at it. :). I was hoping he'd pass VET and he did but not intact :)

I'm glad Mercedes didn't win and glad that if it was RBR that it was RIC but would have preferred pretty much any other them than RBR or Mercedes.

Great finish though :)

It's a little grim though that the Mercedes was 160HP down on power and had bad rear brakes but it was still able to successfully keep those cars behind for so long. Rosberg's 1st and 2nd sectors were amazing given that fact.

I love it that Ricciardo won. He deserved it!

I know a lot of you aren't fans of Hamilton, but I'm really glad he won instead of Rosberg today. Not just because I'm a fan of Hamilton, but also because I've just made £44.00 profit on a bet I had for him to win

Great race, Button did great, just a shame there weren't a couple more laps added on, he might have got a podium then. Superb battle between Alonso and Vettel too, despite Alonso's occasional trips off track :D

Sounds like the Ice Man will be ok too, that was one hell of a crash he had :(

I just finished watching. I too would rather see Louis than Nico. Nico rubs me the wrong way. Good for you on your wager to :)

Yes, the Alonso and Vettel battle was spectacular. Real racing there. That penalty really hurt Fernando - I'm guessing he would have made 3rd if no penalty.

That crash was scary. It's amazing with all that carnage to the car that Kimi was ok.

I saw a rumor that Ross may return to Ferrari ?
