Got home late but found time for a fatter coil on the Reo. Still muted flavors

your coil is too low. When air flows only over the coil, you get muted flavors. The underside is where the TH and treble (acidic, sharp) flavors lurk. Push it up so it is at least centered (height) on your air hole. I go a little higher than that.






Looking at it in elevation (from the side) you want to be able to see under the coil (see the rim, all around)

I'm bad at searching guys. Can anyone find 28 kanthal through eBay from temco? I can find it on their main site but I heard the shipping takes a lot longer from there.

I get all my stuff from Temco within 2-3 days

I have ordered straight from Temco a few times now, and my orders have all either shipped out that same day I placed my order, or the next day at the very latest. Then I have my order in my mailbox 2-3 days later...

I'm not sure how you sub ohm guys do it. I'm thinking that a coil under 1 ohm is to warm for me.

Great flavor though. I've been on an Andes mint kick for a few days and its awesome around .7

0.7 doesn't qualify as "low ohms"? hmmmmm I would think that's pretty low.

anyway. air hole size. It's kinda hard though, to establish how low you want your resistance BEFORE you drill, lest you drill too big.

I like 1.4mm for .5&.6Ω . . . other folks like to just leave the barn door open

I tend to leave mine around 1/32" for 1.0-1.3 coils. If I go sub-ohm, i use my caps drilled to 1/16"

I think the smallest hole I have is 1.6, even on my dual sub-ohm micros, I have gotten use to that size so anything smaller feels anemic to me

Is the oring in the catch cup to keep the a7 stable or because its threads are too long?

The little screw that adjusts and makes contact with the mod's positive post is very loose in the threads, so much so that when it's almost unscrewed all the way it tilts to the side and can short. Plus it doesn't stay adjusted to where you put it to. With the insulator in there it stays tight and centered.
Just remember to use an o-ring around the crown of the Reo's 510 connector and mark the spot for the hole in the correct spot and not on the button side.

18 ga is the small end of the spectrum. It's a nano

I like the performance but rewicking is challenging enough to outweigh the benefit

That's why ima try 17 ga.

Are you liking the Reo form ?

The reo is great! If you love dripping but don't like hovering a dripper bottle over your drip tip (especially while driving) to refill, what's not to love? Plus you can toss it on the couch or put it in your back jeans pocket without babying it or worrying about leaking. As long as you dont do it right after a squonk you're good.

How does this look? Seriously, I've tried high... lower... close to the edge... in towards the posts... all different thicknesses.. 8 coils up to 15... but I certainly don't mind trying again with some guidance.

The hole in the left post is aimed way left which seems odd to me. Can this be turned forward? Trying to thread it without pulling the far left coil out of whack. Looks like I pushed it back a little too much this time. It's 30 gauge kanthal but looks really thin compared to yours pdib.

This rm2 is kicking my .... Maybe it's time to think about trying something else on my reo.

Well... It was fun to build, but the whole next to the mouth thing is a no-go.
