Aw! Thank you all so much!
We had a nice anniversary. Our patty melts were delicious.

I'm sorry it seems like we've vanished. The last month and 1/2 have just been crazy with special orders. As soon as we get the list whittled down, we get 10 more. In other words, we're in a constant state of being behind. We love and appreciate the special orders but we're thinking we need to come up with a new system so we can do them as well as tips for the site. (I still think we need to clone Doug. I hear those 3D printers are only about $2,000. Maybe we could print up a few new Dougs?)

Hope you're all having a great weekend! I just built a fort in my living room. :D

Kayte I know that I've always been a culprit of special orders..... for me I'd have no issue if you told me it might take a couple of weeks..it's not like I don't have other tips to use:laugh: Perhaps in general the special requests should have a longer waiting period and we could let you know if there was a need to expedite (gift etc.) You deserve to disappear now and again..we all need that.

Iowa has a good point! Maybe special requests shouldn't be expected so quickly.

Special orders are great when you know what you want, but most of the tips I have, I didn't know I wanted them until they were created. I agree that you should make tips for the site as well as the special orders - I miss seeing the new tips posted here. Like Iowa Gal & QRXT said, I don't mind waiting for a special order - that's expected in most businesses. Any reasonable person should agree. If not, they're not reasonable and you shouldn't do business with them!
:p

In my last email to Doug, I said "I'm not in a rush, so don't worry if you're busy - I'm patient."

PS - Don't forget some time off as well - hope Doug's not slaving away in the shop 7 days a week...

(I still think we need to clone Doug. I hear those 3D printers are only about $2,000. Maybe we could print up a few new Dougs?)

Well, you know what they say about clones around here. ;) We wouldn't want any sub-standard work... hehe

Whadda I know? I'm still, with the help of Dale and Qrxt, trying to copy, paste, and post just one picture! Arr-r-rgh!!!! I'll figure it out....I'll figure it out.....Got to keep my mind occupied right now, Kayte. Got some bad news last night that I can do nothing about, so I'm determined to get a picture of one of my precious Molehill tips on the "brag" thread. :p

Edit: I, too, can wait!

3d printer for 2k? nah! try 8 times that! Sorry Doug!

Well you just totally blew that plan out of the water. (As if I had the 2k!)

You're no culprit! You're a blessing! When I said we love and appreciate special orders, I mean it! We do! We've just gotten so many all at once for quite a stretch here that we have had very few to put on the website, so it looks like we aren't making tips anymore.

I like the idea that if someone needs one in a hurry, they can let us know that and we'll bump it to the front. Good idea! And otherwise, I'm toying with the idea that we can do one special order a day (possibly two, depending on what they are?) and the rest of the day can be tips for the website.

Iowa has a good point! Maybe special requests shouldn't be expected so quickly. I know I have been really surprised to hear back on them so fast. Just fit them in when there is time? I have to admit I am guilty of "special request syndrome" as well.
It's going to be a big adjustment for us to not get them out as quickly. We don't like the idea, but supertrunker says I can't have a 3D printer.

Just to be clear - I'm not complaining about special orders at all! Doug and I are both just crummy at figuring out how to do both, efficiently. And we really need to figure that out. lol

You guys telling us that you aren't in a hurry makes us want to hurry. We appreciate your patience so much that we don't want you to have to use it.
I've missed getting to post tips here! It's one of the fun parts of my job.

lol True about clones! Gosh. I could get stuck with a few sub-standard Doug's!

I'm making a very frowny face about you getting bad news choochoo.
Let's see if I can make it easy for you to share pics. Go to my photobucket. (If you click on any of the photos I post, it will take you straight to my photobucket.) (All the folders are on the left (by month mostly) if you want to hunt through them there. Find a tip you've gotten and click on the picture of it to enlarge it.) On the right side at the top, there's a squared off area that says; "Links to share this photo", under that is four choices - email & IM, Direct, HTML and IMG. Left click in the IMG box (that will automatically 'copy' it.) Then come here to make a post. Just right click and select 'paste'. That's it. I know you can do it!

If you want to share a video from youtube, just go to the video, the 'copy' the addresss straight from the address bar at the top of browser page. Then come here to make a post. You can either click the little filmstrip icon, or just 'paste' the address into your post and then type: [ video ] at the front and [ /video ] at the end of the address you pasted. (Only don't put any spaces like I did. Just had to do that so it would show you. lol)

We just had quite the little snow storm here. It's gorgeous outside! Fire in the wood stove, dinner ready to serve and grandsons have gone home. I still have a fort in my living room. I'm thinking Doug and I should have our dinner in there before I take it down.

Thanks, Kayte. :) Took me a while.....as usual, but figured it out with the help of Dale, Qrxt, and Sirius and now I've printed out your instructions too. I can't help it. I'm "old school". Have been going nuts "bragging" on my tips.:D Got lots to brag about!!!!!

Thought it was a snow fort you guys made! We kids in the neighborhood would make two and have a "war". Parents didn't mind. Were out almost all day. By the time we came home with blue fingers and toes, red cheeks and runny nose, we were ready for hot soup, steamy bath, and warm bed. :p

I suggest limiting custom order making to a limited time each week.

I fear you will get so busy with custom we'll never see any new creations and custom will be the only way to get one.

It's your decision. I'm sure you'll do quite well with whatever system you devise---or come up with a new plan.
