Kayte,
That falls really close to mosaic. It's pretty but not a fav. If he doesn't have something else you think might work I'll order a blue tank instead of red and maybe you could make a red one like the one you listed a couple of days ago...if you still have the supply available.
I've gotten lots of compliments on the 2 bears/Bronco (Auburn...War Eagle!) and the turq/purple tips! Love 'em!

I promise i will post pics soon. Thank you!

Good to see the wounded soldier up and back to work!
The green box elder is gorgeous. :)

There's a 'red, white and blue flake' on the website right now. Other than that, I don't know that Doug has made any! I'll take a look in the shop and see if we have something that would be along the lines you've described. :)

Up on the site now:

Pink Dyed Box Elder Burl - Wood

Safari - Walnut with Inlaid Clay - Wood and Clay

Copper Mosaic - Acrylic

Beautiful!!!

Yes that's the one. Would love to have a red blue mix but if you don't have anything like that I would be VERY happy with one in this acrylic in any shape he chooses. It's beautiful.
Added bonus....it will work for Christmas and Valentines too. :)

I love the shape of that violet dyed box elder.
Beautiful!
Me too Cat! :)
Hope you're doing well and having a great day!

I should have some tips here in awhile. I know he had a potpourri on the lathe last night. YAY for potpourri tips! I think those are right up there at the top of my favorites. Just under his random segmented tips. My gosh those are gorgeous!

Omg!!!! That pink is still there!!??
Can't believe it.....

Hey kayte, tell me about the ceramic tips... Not seen any ceramic tips before.

Hopefully it won't be there much longer!

There are a few sites that offer ceramic tips. They're very small and only come in basic colors and the standard shapes (pawn and ming.) They're nice, but seems like we could make them more fun and/or pretty!

I'm really liking the ceramic tips. I've been using one on one of my spinners. They don't get hot (no heat transference) and that's important to me. I don't like hot lips. lol The ones on the website now are not glazed and double fired.. I painted them (or used ink) and then finished them (inside and out) with an acrylic finish. I'll have more before too long that are glazed and re-fired. I'm planning on doing some both ways because that makes the possibilities endless. :D Um... I think they're nicer looking in person than the photos showed. Anything else you'd like to know? :)

Wow! I'm amazed that pink tip is still on the site! Where are all the girly girls at? And that is the longest I've seen a potpourri stay on the site. For those that don't have a potpourri tip, now is the time!
Miss Kayte, I just had an interesting idea, however I'm not sure how well it would work.... Wouldn't a tip with the fuzzy dandelion seed thingies look cool? Just a thought. :)

That sounds great, looking forward to some more great tips.

I can't wait to see the tips made out of these. We got some Ironwood burl that is just stunning. I'd like a table, and cabinets and bookshelves, and flooring and and and... lol
All kinds of highly figured woods. Doug asked me what I wanted to see first. I picked out three that I want to see first.

Afternoon! Hope everyone's had a good day.

Two new wood tips up on the site now:

The first is out of the new batch of woods we got in today... love it! :)

Spalted Oregon Myrtle Burl - Wood

Dyed Box Elder Burl - Wood

Anybody else notice that green one has a face??? Up top near the tip I see eyes, nose, & a tiny mouth!
