The temp protection is just to make sure the battery isn't heating up too much... standard practice in most consumer electronics in the U.S. and elsewhere.

yeah I get that, just not sure what it's DOING FOR ME
different than others before... (if any)

the new dna 40 has a TEMP mode that you set the device by
but you need nichrome Nickel wire to take advantage of it

it seems a great way to function and the industry no doubt is
heading in that direction

but in my world, things are working fine and NTC will just cost
me more to use when I'm getting by with being a simple vapor`er

(hence, why MVP is so popular I'd say)

:D

Well, what it could do for you is allow you to draw higher current from the batt until the batt reaches some specific temp... outside of that, it is probably just doing what they all do... trying to make sure you don't overheat the battery while charging it. My guess though, Kanger is mentioning it to appeal to safety concerns and if for some reason people confuse it with the DNA40 temp system and buy the device, well... that's not bad either ;)

Agreed on the very different DNA40 coil temp control possibly not being for everyone... we will see if the industry adopts and keeps this idea for long. That IPOW2 doesn't look bad, but yeah, I like my MVP2.

I believe the DNA40 uses nickel wire, not nichrome, to take advantage of temperature control. I like my simple devices, like my MVPs and don't vape high temps so I don't feel the need one... yet. Probably never. I am a KISS kinda old girl (Keep It Simple Stupid).

Who you calling simple?! ;)

You are correct, it's intended for use with nickel wire. I haven't played with it myself yet either, but I hear mostly positive reviews about that feature... the difficulty I read about most is the flimsiness of nickel wire at the gauges we use. I see some people are twisting 32g Kanthal in with it as a corrective measure. Since Evolv is making chips for Innokin... I wouldn't be that surprised to see the temp control make it's way in to the latest releases. They sure can't stop competitors from matching this feature. The feature I have been most looking forward to is being able to control your ramp up speed... i.e., high wattage burst to get the coil up to temp as quickly as possible and then just keep it at that temp... and on a different device, the ability to program your output wattage with fine controls so that you could say... burst of high watts to start, then maintain X degrees until the 5 second mark and after that jump it up to a higher level for the rest of the cycle... or burst to a high temp for 5 seconds and then from 6-10 seconds keep it at half the temp.

yep the DNA40 uses Nickle, TI or kanthal, yet the temp control doesn't work with kanthal.

it's the future of high end (wattage) Vaporizers and i definitely like the idea......but that's just me i do not want to limit myself on Devices i want to try them all.
all devices have there place with different styles and always will as long as we are allowed to Vape.....most of the time i enjoy subbing with my high end devices yet i still enjoy my other devices such as the MVP... to each there own :)

Don't forget the NiChrome, stainless steel, ceramic and who knows what else people are using as heating elements ;)

BTW: I was doing a google image search for DNA30 earlier... and your avatar came up in the first page of results! lol

I'm far too lazy for building coils, also eagerly awaiting the MVP3!

boy-o-boy, you should make the effort to 'teach' yourself how to build the coils,
the coils YOU want & like...

such a big difference, Ω & cotton as you want (especially bcc) very, very simple

- A PBusardo Review All About The EVOD - Includes Recoiling - YouTube

- Lightning Vapes — Lightning Vapes - Great Products, Lightning Fast Shipping! Silica Wick, Kanthal Wire, Stainless Steel Mesh, Ekowool and More!

you can do it, good luck

:)

I have enough coil wire coming now, It should be years before I need to buy it again, unless I switch from 24 and 30 gauge.

Nope... this Christmas/Chanuka/whatever... you will get a brand new device, with a new feature... and all your wire will be useless... ... ... or something like that ;)
