i've gotten into the habit of, after glowing the kanthal i put about an inch of wire rite below where i start to wrap on the screwdriver and hold it down w/my thumb then bend it out at 90% and start my wrap.....my eyes aren't as good as they once were; sometimes when i want to see the wrap better i start the wrap by going under the driver and pulling the wrap back t-words me and it seems like i have better control and make nice uniform coils....then while the coil is still on the driver i hold one leg and pull on the other one with some needle nose pliers then do the same with the other leg.....attach/ clip/test on the meter then burn and wick it....that's my routine.

I find wrapping spaced coils far quicker and easier than wrapping tightly compacted coils , there's really nothing to it . Make sure you have your readers on though .

I have tried the wrap three tightly together / space / wrap another two tightly together /space /wrap three more tightly together type coils but again i see no differences .

I just wrap mine wild, crazy, fast like
just – whoosh-whoosh-whoosh-whoosh-whoosh-whoosh (done)
then squish wraps together, slide it off, hold the legs (tweak as needed)
then I heat with lighter/squeeze with tweezers
(normally it springs back out to nice spacing)
install coil and adjust with tip of toothpick (or nail)
qwik , fast, easy - for me… YMMV

must be aware of ‘torsional spring’ - allow the wire to roll,
don’t pinch it so hard it ‘twists’ creating a flex effect, let it go naturally…

Yup , when wrapping spaced coils you can go at lightning speed , i do the same . Jandry so your using NETS lol, no wonder your getting gunked. I , after testing nearly every non NET tobacco flavor out there found one that tasted just like a Marlboro to me so i stick with that.

It's clear and non gunking to boot.

Ill have to look up the acronym "NETS". Just FYI, the ejuice im talking about is White Lightening; its made by a local B&M shop called "All About Vapor". Supposedly, it has a lot of flavoring, which retrospectively I discern to mean "sweet" or containing this "NETs" you speak of. I might try to find a less gunkier equivalent, but I have to say its hitting AWESOME still and im halfway into my second tank. It blows my mind that literally spacing out the coil- no changes to wick amount, height, airflow, or wattage at all- has made such a big difference.

I dont care for the tobacco flavors myself tending to want fruity or rich/sweet flavors. I need to experiment some, but want to get another APV before I go blowing money on juice samples. I have 3 solid flavors I like now (Mothers Milk, Sucker Punch, White Lightening), so with this new "spaced coil" deal I should be good until I get some cash to blow.

I am very slowly working towards saving money- instead of spending more- with vaping as opposed to smoking :p

I use stylish on Firefox with a global dark theme, so I didnt see the little underline- indeed all I had to do was hover :p

I am quickly approaching 4 months on the vape train (30yrs old in human years)- havent had a cig except 2 puffs off one ~5 days or so after quitting. Blows my mind all the variance in vaping but its been fun to learn and tweak and improve. I am happy with my setup now.

You know, as to what APV I want to get.. I really dont know. Id like to try dual coil builds with 30 gauge so I would think id want a 15 or 20 watt APV. At the same time, I love the MVP's design, not needing chargers or batterys, built in ohm checker, its form factor- everything. I am not sure, but I think when $$ permits im just gonna grab another MVP. Im really keeping my eyes open for the MVP 3- if its 15watts and not 80+ dollars, theyve got my money. Ive considered an SVD and even a DNA30 (dont see much on DNA20's for whatever reason?), but aside from the wattage gains I dont like them as much. Open to suggestions from you guys if you have any.

But really, another MVP2 would be great- one for the Kayfun and one for the Protank 2 both with different flavors and different nic combos- would/will be sweet :vapor:

@jandry, how'd you space your coil? I'm tempted to get some sort of wood screw or something which can help me space the wraps (I'm so used to compressing them - thanks RipTripper!) that I don't think I can space them out evenly (due to some amount of OCD - or should that be CDO?)

I am thinking that the heat distribution would be "smoother" with a spaced coil, and it might be the answer to my dry-hits.

Anxiously waiting on my Nauti's :D :D :D

A screw would work, but I do mine by hand.. You do need to 'unlearn' wrapping the coils so close though

Cut out red meat a few months ago and am down 13lbs. About 25 more to go :(

WOW!!! For me...a diet without red meat would be like vaping at zero nicotine (or...having sex without an orgasm)!!!

I recently went on a NO Carbohydrate diet that is almost ALL meat. You eat as much of the foods on the list as you want...with the only "Rule" being if you're unsure whether you're hungry or not...EAT!

(The link says "use the low carb food list to be sure you're also getting your 12 to 15 grams of net carbs in vegetables as well"...but I was way too lazy to do that.)

It was so easy the only reason I stopped it was because my girlfriend said I was beginning to look like I just got back from a Concentration Camp.

Low Carb Food List for Phase One | Atkins

Maybe I got a bum tank? Everything is tightened down so I have no idea. I could leave my nautilus tanks or my Aspire BDC tanks alone for days and have never had a puddle of juice.

I'm wondering...if you have a Nautilus (with the BVC coils, of course)...why are you even playing around with other tanks???

I just got my MVP 2 in the mail. I ordered Carbon Drawbench Black.
I think I was sent just the plain black, but wanted to confirm with you guys.

The (first) MVP2 I ordered was the New Wave (Energy).

But...although it did come with the New Wave MVP2 it had an Oak 16B.

After about 15 minutes of vaping...I didn't even notice it anymore. :thumb:

Ya.. pretty much proven that its carb and processed foods that do you in, not meat or fat. Shoot, they even found that Skim milk actually makes you eat more and get fat, not lose it ;)

haha – I watched a video (many moons ago) of a guy using a ‘screw’
to wrap coils, looked real pretty and seemed very consistant –
well that’s it, I LIKE THAT TECHNIQUE, should work great for me…

LOL, when you see the size of the screw that will fit into a bcc coil base WOW !
then if ya do try it, good luck finding one with any length to hold
I’m sticking with the toothpick method ...

:)

yeah, all this reading everyday is exciting and slowly chipping away at me, breaking me down and
curiousity is weighing heavy with the high-output changeable battery type & charger version of the PV’s
I kinda made a decision starting out and went with the self-contained
and have stuck with it, so far…
if somebody handed me two 18650’s & a charger now,
guess I’d jump on one of these

Stay away from experimenting if your trying to save money , doesn't work . Stick to what works and you will save money. Regarding your comment about " the new spacing " thing , i believe the spacing thing is the standard by which all other coils are based . When you attempt to do your first ever coil it typically will be spaced.

To be honest , after talking to others regarding 'everything coil', it seems a plain old coil (even one that looks hideous) and is tough to look at performs every bit as well as the more fancy varieties in real World usage.

You can forget the MVP III being in the $ 40.00 range when released , i have a feeling it's going to be something special and priced accordingly , i plan on scooping up a few MVP 2.0's before they disappear.

No unlearning needed , even if you wrap too tight and close once mounted a simple tug will space them perfectly.

Don't go down that road , you will regret it . Trust me , i went down that road and the MVP still dominates , your not really missing anything except more $$ out of your pocket .

Besides that thing is much less manly than the rugged and tough as nails appearance of the MVP , the MVP would whoop that imposter's a_ _..

hello Trevisan, welcome to the MVP forum

hard to believe ya waited this long to get one, huh ? ;)

such a great device makes ya wonder what the next generation will hold... :2cool:

Thank you for the welcome! I have been lurking & learning on this thread for a while. I'm sure I will have some noob MVP questions and now I know exactly where to go. So far I am just messing around with it to learn what I like, seems like it's pretty easy to use which is perfect for me. I like that it is smaller than I anticipated, and seems really solid. So far, very happy with my purchase!
