just a reminder for peeps purchasing new devices,
specifically ‘topper tanks’

these devices are mass produced in a hurried fashion and most
manufacturers do not take the time to clean (or sanitize) items…

so think of them as you would say,
buying silverware or bowls/plates at your favorite deptment store…

would you buy a new cup and bring it home, pour in
a full glass of milk and drink it, before washing it… ? (yuk)

also, manufacturers never know how long something might
sit on a shelf before sale, so a coat of preservative oil is applied
so their nice shiny new product won’t rust before you open it…

nothing special need to be done, just wash in warm water and soap
then a good rinse-n-dry and you’re ready for new vaping experiences

The battery is guaranteed for eight years or 125,000 mi
after 8 years, battery replacement costs :
•$10,000 for the 60 kWh battery,
•$12,000 for the 85 kWh battery
{VaporShark will replace the single 18650 for $25}

two years ago I didn’t know what an 18650 was…

two battery pak models (230 miles / 362hp) & (320 miles / 416hp)

battery swapping can be done @ $60-$80 a shot (appx price tank of fuel)
takes about 90 seconds to swap...

price for the 5 seat (+ 2 rear facing jump seats) range: $70k to $105k

wonder if it has a plug-in for my MVP…?

it’s like a power outage in here, or maybe everyone is snowed in
very little traffic in the past 30 hrs…
guess all is well with everyones vaping tools

well got home and ran thru all the ‘sites’
and still see no price drop on the 3rd version of MVP…

expecting to see some kind of movement now that the
dock-workers strike has been settled, in turn allowing all the ships
that were sitting in limbo off the US west coast, to off load cargo…

heard a number ??? one of the ‘talking hair-dos’ on TV said the strike
was costing 2 BILLION dollars a day ???? (say what ?)-(costing who ?)

I guess if I NEEDED a device at this time I would just pay the $60 bucks and get
the sure deal MVP 3.0, but that is what the hiccup in my plan is, don’t really need
anything so I can be frugal…

so I am just sitting here fighting off - shiny itis – ☮

Well, if we are going to threadjack then EV's are one of my favorite! I'm doing my part. I built
an Electric bike that runs many of my local chores.

This is the inside of my LiFePo pack that powers my E-Bike:




With studded tires it is also my ice fishing rig. 25mph up and down the frozen river on a bicycle is a blow!

Great stuff! I used to have an old Chinese electric bike with a very heavy lead acid battery. Still nipped around nicely - but it was a beast if you had to push it anywhere. I may well pick up a modern electric bike - I could use the help on the hills!

I built mine to be a work horse with a heavy strong gear-less motor and I went with the heavier but easier to maintain LiFePo over the lighter and more powerful Lipo's. If you are just looking for a helper unit it can be done in under 20 lb's

They neglect to mention that that range doesn't include the heat or AC operating, and that it's in flat land, not hills or mountains.

They don't mention where those battery swap stations are (and where they are not), or how long it takes to recharge from standard power (instead of the special charging stations).

If you want to take a 4-500 mile trip in most of the US you'll have to stop several times for many hours each.

Meanwhile I can but a gasoline car that will go 300+ miles on a tank of gas that I can refill in 5 minutes nation wide, and can have that for $15-20K. The $50-85k I don't spend on the car will buy a lot of gas, insurance and maintenance.


They have been trying to make a viable electric car for over 100 years. Batteries just ain't going to do it with current technology.

Never mind the industrial pollution building the batteries (far worse than 20 years of driving a gasoline powered car), or the coal fired power plants used to recharge them or then environmental impact to dispose of the batteries at the end of their life.

Hydrogen fuel cells might be viable in a few years. Series diesel/electric is viable now (like locomotives) but no one is pursuing it as it doesn't hit the buzz of the day. Personally I favor a series diesel or gasoline/electric with the engine turned for optimum efficiency (ie single RPM as it's the wide RPM range that hurts most engine efficiency) charging a secondary storage battery (good for 25-50 miles) to keep the engine at peak performance and to supply extra power on demand.

Well, they have improved in recent years, but I regularly exceed the EPA estimates in my vehicles, and '83, 2000, and a 2014 model.

the REAL alternative for RIGHT NOW is “CNG”
(compressed natural gas) it has btu ratings higher than gasoline
much cleaner to burn, and there is an abundance of it in our ground
also it is smaller & lighter than batteries
but it is the big oil and gov holding it back...

doubt my MVP will ever be powered by CNG

originally, I posted the electric car had over 7000 “18650” batteries

an interview I was watching, guy said: “made up of over 7000 18650’s”

two years ago I would not have known what that meant…

The battery is in the red bag, power then goes in to the small black box (controler) on the seat stay then back up and back down the down stay and through a hollow axle in to the rear hub motor. In my state, E-bikes are a grey area and I built my bike to look as much like a bike as possible so I don't have to have lights and wear a motorcycle helmet and other restrictions.
