You guys probably have seen early posts from months ago about the constant base rusting and falling apart. This has now happened the 5th time. I had to dump out a whole tank of ejuice and now I have no base again. This is absolutely unacceptable and proves the nautilus mini is China made garbage even if it works well. The thing has a lifespan of 1 month before rusting. Does anyone else have this problem?

I'm reminded of my first protanks;
they all broke at... and it was a like cleeeeean nice break.......... at the junction between metal and glass.

metal plus glue plus glass - I'm thinking 1 year with frequent use

the bottom line;
if you want a glass tank, (and I recommend a glass tank) you want a glass tube that fits with rubber seals- a simple glass cylinder

I find it hard to fathom 303 Stainless Steel rusting.....maybe 310, not certain which it has. Take a magnet to the base, if it sticks, it is not authentic. That said, I wonder if it is actually rust and not juice that has darkened, if not already dark. Perhaps from a leak then drying. That could take on the appearance of rust....just sayin

If it is actually rust, then this is the following likely reasons for it:
(a) it's not an authentic Nautilus, as they are made with Stainless Steel
(b) it's authentic, but you've left it to soak in alcohol or some other acid/alkali compound.
(c) you've somehow allowed unalloyed steel particles to come in contact with the stainless steel.

To test if it's actually rust and not something else, spray it with water after cleaning and leave it out over night. If no rust forms the next day, then rust is not the issue.
