1st- I wasn`t using chrome or firefox, I was using IE11 on a Win 7 Home Pre 64bit with SP1 though it may be worthwhile to give a different browser a try. As it stands its not my machine so I can`t load anything on it without permission. My own machine is down so I am stuck using what I have.

2nd- I have accessed gotvapes in the past with this machine (months ago) without issue. I also had no problems earlier today. However as of a few hours ago up until at least when I posted this, the problem was present. You may have had a problem yesterday but you also had a problem today.

3rd- I am not a computer noob, I am actually fairly well versed in these things. As soon as the problem presented, I tried to use the address bar to bypass the redirect but it wouldn`t work. I tried to access the site with google`s cache feature but couldn`t get beyond the 1st page (in plain text mode) without being redirected to the new address. After that I erased all my various temps, caches, cookies, etc & tried again via the address bar & then google cached, with the same result. After that I pulled the machine from my network, scanned it & the rest of my network; with no issues found. I then did an online scan without any issues found; I repeated the file dump & tried again without success.

4th- After tracking down your contact page address, I pulled its cached file & tried to call you guys. Every time I dialed the number from 3 different phone systems, I got the same message that the number I`ve dialed isn`t in service. I know that my phones are all working otherwise.

5th- After confirming that I still couldn`t access your page without being redirected, I posted the original post. I can`t say much beyond that. That`s what happened, frankly it`s of little relevance to me personally. I gave up already & ordered from another retailer. I won`t order from a company that I can`t call & speak to a real human if there`s an issue. Today there was an issue, your page was being hijacked & I tried to let you know. After I used the only method left at my disposal to reach your company & potentially warn other consumers to pay attention to possible redirects.

6th- Hopefully you`ll take this seriously & address the security issues with your site. If they can force a redirect from your site on 2 occasions (you already acknowledged this has happened yesterday), then there is serious security issues present that could cause other consumers who are less cognizant of the issues to potentially divulged private, confidential or otherwise sensitive information to scammers. Its not uncommon for the scammers to try a few minor incursions prior to attempting a larger breach, sort of sticking your toe in to test the water temp.

Good luck but I am not willing to take the risk, you lost this customer the moment I couldn`t call you guys.

BTW- I won`t deny you may have an online secondary customer service site, I didn`t try to use it. When the problem is a potential hijacking, using a redirected "customer service" that redirects me to a different webpage with a different address would be foolishness!

You are within your rights to choose not to be accessible by phone. I am within my rights to not deal with that sort of business.

Yes, you are within your rights. But as it states in the contact page everything is to be conducted through igotvapes.com which is the support site of which I am the manager. Also, we do take security very serious. I am a retired IT specialist and tech for the GOV. Specializing in intranet and internet security for the military. I check our site several times a day. If you feel that you don't want to deal with our services that is your prerogative and we respect that.

As a diagnostic computer tech of over 27 years...

I can asure you that it isn't the GotVapes website that is at fault here. You were redirected for other reasons that either have to do with how you entered the site... or an issue with your computer itself. I'll quote what I had posted for another user because this is a very important issue to address properly...

When you are getting redirected... and no one else is... indicates the problem is with your computer itself.

Woody55 already mentioned that clearing the cache can help, but that is only in certain cases. At this time... the only known issue that was found already were the search results that got tainted, the GotVapes.com website itself was unaffected and was not the source of those redirects. What does this mean then for someone experiencing it... the redirect had to happen because of somewhere you visited or something that got installed onto your computer with or without your knowledge.

So if this happens to you... you should take additional precautions. To start, Clear out all of your temp files, clear your browser cache and then restart the computer. Next run a full scan ( not just a quick one ) with the protection software you have installed after you have updated it ( ps... you should only have one active protection software ). Then scan with spyware/adware untils such as Malwarebytes Antimalware and others if you have them... no one program detects all of the millions of possible malwares...

If you don't have current and up to date protection software already installed. If you don't have protection software or it has expired... Microsoft has Security Essentials for free for WinXP up to Windows 7 computers... Windows 8 and newer has Windows Defender which is almost identical. There are other free ones as well... these are just easy to use and catch a lot of stuff. I don't recommend Norton or McAfee though... at all. These types of protection software don't target spyware and adware malware very well.. because many of these types are subjective and some people actually install them on purpose ( I don't know why but they do )... For this reason, using a good antispyware to scan with after your primary active protection software is recommended. I like the earlier version of Spybot ( v1.62 ) and Emsisoft's Emergency Kit because both are portable and can be run from a USB stick.

While it isn't a protection software or scanner... I also use CCleaner to clean up the system before and after I disinfect one. It also has a safe to run registry cleaner that isn't too aggressive like many out there. The default settings do have area's that I don't like to clean up... such as history etc... but everyone will have different wants and needs... those defaults aren't a bad place to start but do look them over before running it just in case.

What the scammers are trying to do iks clone the site using the fake name, it gets spidered in the search engines, You will not get redirected to the fake site by visiting us, our site is safe and secure. If you happen to search in a search engine for a certain product or our name , deeper in the results you might see the fake site E-Gotvapes with a E in front of our name, do not click that site or purchase form there as they are a fake cloned site. We are aware and are handling this situation.

To all shoppers, Shopping at our site GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more if safe and secure and your information is hidden from anyone attempting to hack it, we do not store that on our end so no one information can be used for illegal purchases, we took steps to ensure that years ago. This isnt even an attack, its a cloned site and trying to phish people onto the fake site in attempts to get your information.

To be safe, make sure to look at your url bar to make sure it leads to our site GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more

we will keep posting as more inofrmation becomes available and a investigation is being taken place

Thank you, Chris O & Daniel S, GOTVAPES.com

We are on top of the situation and are just being vigilant and proactive , We have recognized a second phishing attempt by the same fake site which uses the letter E in front of our name, please make sure that if you search for a product or our name in a search engine to only click on our site GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more. Please check your URL bar in your browser to make sure your at the right site.

Your information is safe at our site , This is not a hack, this is called cloning and is a form of phising. Other vendors should also be on the look out for strange activity and should search for their names in search engines for any scam attempts as any one can do this to any site , luckily we have a full team always checking our site and we catch this stuff pretty quick.

Thank you and once again only shop at GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more, any other name with any letters in front of it should be avoided and are fake

This is not a redirect attack, so visiting our site will not send you to any other site, this can only happen if you search for a product or site in a search engine and then you click the wrong site because it looks familar, so make sure to check your url address bar in your browser

We are working on having the fake site removed once again and we are in the process of investigating the phising scam and already have some leads.

Okay, so what is with the Promgirl.de redirects?

Only thing I have used firefox for in the last 17 months is ECF,Ebay(both always logged on) and e-cig related searches.

Thought another user may have gotten a redirect malware, but I monitor everything closely and cannot find any internal problems.:glare:

No other sites or searches are being effected.

Most other users are not being redirected... This means the redirect is from either the method you are using to get there ( ie a search engine ) or from something installed on your computer whether you know it or not.

If you get redirected using the following link and you have cleared your cache / cookies etc... then it is a malware installed on your system doing it.

GotVapes.com, E-cigarette Supplies - Atomizers Cartomizers Mods Juice and more
