Here are the QuickStart instructions from Keith at CDV that
@Katdarling PM'd me. She sent it as an attached doc in *.pdf format which may be easier to read ...
Dicodes Box mods Quick Start
Help to get you going
Navigating the menu
Entering the menu is done by pressing either the up or down adjustment button.
Once in the menu pressing up or down will scroll through all menu items and menu items will come
back around to repeat and you can also step forward or backwards with either up or down
accordingly.
At the item you wish to change or set pressing the fire button will toggle on/off the highlighted
value.
Highlight the item and press up or down to change that setting.
Key menu items:
Hctrl: This is your main mode switching menu. Once highlighted use up or down to scroll to the
mode you wish to use
1. Standard - This is normal power/wattage mode used for Kanthal or SS wire
2. TmpCntrl - This is Temperature controlled mode, once selected wait a few seconds to
select your wire type
a. Wire types available will appear and you can scroll through these with up or down
Inox - Use this for SS wire types
Ni200 - Nickel 200 wire
NiFe30 - Use this for the Dicodes Resistherm wire (sample included)
R/T: Check this menu item for a reading of the resistance and temperature (when using TC mode)
of the last second the device was firing the coil. This is particularly helpful to check to see what
your device has calculated the temp to be, check this after the atomiser coil has come to room
temp and you should find T setting at or near 20C/70F
Tempcal: (Calibrate temperature control calculation)
When using temperature control mode be sure to perform the steps below when you install a new
coil or put on a new atomiser with TC wire. This is how you set the base resistance at room
temperature.
Highlight "Init" and then press up or down to step to "Confirm" and then press up or down
once more to see "process" When you see the "Process" word appear this means the device has
processed the reading and your coil's base resistance at room temp has been locked into the
calculation for temp control.
Always a good idea to navigate back to the R/T screen again to double check you are
seeing a T value of at or near 20C/70F If not check your coil wires are firmly attached and the coil
is at room temp, double check you have the correct wire selected from the "Hctrl/TmpCntrl" menu.
Re-perform Tempcal and recheck your R/T values.
UBO/UBL: This is your battery’s reading. UBO is "open" or the resting voltage of your battery at
this moment in time. UBL is "under load" voltage and you are seeing the voltage of your battery at
the last moment of firing your coil on the previous puff.
Depending on your power settings and coil resistance this could be wildly different to your resting
voltage, this normal especially when resistances is sub 1 ohm.
Please note this is displayed a little differently on the No6 devices. Under load voltage is displayed
on each screen while in use and to check the resting voltage you must navigate into the menu.
Extend. Funct.: This is the more customisable settings such as screen brightness, custom TCR
wire settings etc. please refer to Dicodes user guide for more details on these functions.
