Even with this little hiccup...
Gotta say I absolutely love this thing.
It's quite comfortable to hold and not too heavy (which for me is a good thing as my mod is always in my hand)
The workmanship is what I expected - no cheapy stuff here at all.
I don't use TC so my settings are simple.
Well done !

Welp
My purple mini is here.

Put on a topper and put in a battery.
It came right on (no Hello)
vape it a while, set it down...it shuts off.
5 clicks (any button) will not turn it back on.
Remove battery cap and replace - it's on again (no Hello)
(5 clicks will turn it off and says Bye)
rinse and repeat

It’s likely because you have hurt it’s feelings by not posting pics o_O

Oh yeah, congrats!

...probably so, you or Rossum can take pics for me at the next get-together :D

(I'll see if I can get someone at work to take pics)

Here are the QuickStart instructions from Keith at CDV that @Katdarling PM'd me. She sent it as an attached doc in *.pdf format which may be easier to read ...

Dicodes Box mods Quick Start
Help to get you going

Navigating the menu
Entering the menu is done by pressing either the up or down adjustment button.

Once in the menu pressing up or down will scroll through all menu items and menu items will come
back around to repeat and you can also step forward or backwards with either up or down
accordingly.

At the item you wish to change or set pressing the fire button will toggle on/off the highlighted
value.
Highlight the item and press up or down to change that setting.

Key menu items:
Hctrl: This is your main mode switching menu. Once highlighted use up or down to scroll to the
mode you wish to use
1. Standard - This is normal power/wattage mode used for Kanthal or SS wire
2. TmpCntrl - This is Temperature controlled mode, once selected wait a few seconds to
select your wire type
a. Wire types available will appear and you can scroll through these with up or down
Inox - Use this for SS wire types
Ni200 - Nickel 200 wire
NiFe30 - Use this for the Dicodes Resistherm wire (sample included)

R/T: Check this menu item for a reading of the resistance and temperature (when using TC mode)
of the last second the device was firing the coil. This is particularly helpful to check to see what
your device has calculated the temp to be, check this after the atomiser coil has come to room
temp and you should find T setting at or near 20C/70F

Tempcal: (Calibrate temperature control calculation)
When using temperature control mode be sure to perform the steps below when you install a new
coil or put on a new atomiser with TC wire. This is how you set the base resistance at room
temperature.
Highlight "Init" and then press up or down to step to "Confirm" and then press up or down
once more to see "process" When you see the "Process" word appear this means the device has
processed the reading and your coil's base resistance at room temp has been locked into the
calculation for temp control.
Always a good idea to navigate back to the R/T screen again to double check you are
seeing a T value of at or near 20C/70F If not check your coil wires are firmly attached and the coil
is at room temp, double check you have the correct wire selected from the "Hctrl/TmpCntrl" menu.
Re-perform Tempcal and recheck your R/T values.

UBO/UBL: This is your battery’s reading. UBO is "open" or the resting voltage of your battery at
this moment in time. UBL is "under load" voltage and you are seeing the voltage of your battery at
the last moment of firing your coil on the previous puff.

Depending on your power settings and coil resistance this could be wildly different to your resting
voltage, this normal especially when resistances is sub 1 ohm.

Please note this is displayed a little differently on the No6 devices. Under load voltage is displayed
on each screen while in use and to check the resting voltage you must navigate into the menu.

Extend. Funct.: This is the more customisable settings such as screen brightness, custom TCR
wire settings etc. please refer to Dicodes user guide for more details on these functions.

Oh hmmmmmmm.......

and oh no. :(

Just a note, and perhaps it'll be helpful, perhaps not:

This paragraph discusses the AUTO SWITCH OFF:

OK, it auto shut off
And I can't click any configuration of buttons to get it back on :(

When you pick it up, are you trying to see the display or are you just hitting the fire button to vape it? If it's in auto switch off, you won't see the display, but hitting the fire button, it SHOULD vape.

Take the battery out and look at the Dani Mini and the battery (+) and (-) contacts are clean and clear of any debris.

When you insert the battery and screw the cap on, you will meet some slight resistance as the battery tightens up in the mod ... keep screwing the cap past that slight resistance on until you can't turn the cap and the cap is all the way screwed in.

To get into the menu, mine was set to 3 button clicks. I just always click the UP button 3 times to get into the menu. I read or was told that the menu was one button click but mine was set to three clicks ... not the Fire Button ... the UP button.

Try a different battery
Try a different atomizer
Check settings to see that ...
(Battery discharge level) EXT FUNCTION > MOD MENU > UBAT MIN isn't set too high. Should be about 2.7V
... and/or ...
(Reset all settings to factory defaults) EXT FUNCTION > MOD MENU > SetDef Init

I think @kas122461 had the same problem with one of his (?) and maybe he can chime in.

I never had any of mine do what classy is describing, I would contact the vendor, I assume it was CDV. The problem I had was with getting several error code 7's, and that means that I was firing the devise for longer then 20 seconds, (which I wasn't) and the cure for it was to set the UBAT MIN to 3.0, that increases the vape time per drag, from what I understand. I have still had the error code happen every so often, but it is rare anymore. I can't believe Classy is having problems with hers, I just got my 4th, and the things work great, and keep going like the energizer bunny.:| I honestly have a hard time with the menu, and have to read the manual to change that one setting, but once I do that, the only thing I change after that is the wattage.

This is Classwife's first Dani. It took me KWITE a while to play around with the menu settings and I kan not say that even today I either fully understand them, or don't have to refer to them.

Give our moderator a break! :D

From what I have read from your posts, (compared to me) you are at genius level with the menu.:)

Sumptin's goofy.

I 5 click turn it off - and it will not 5 click turn on.

The Auto Shut Off - no combination of nothin' turns it back on

Only removing the battery cap to break the connection and replacing it turns it back on - no clicks involved.

I still don't "get" the menu and have to try a bunch of times to do anything. Seems I press a button too soon or too late all.the.time.

And I'll go against everyone's praise. The Pico X is the most comfortable mod in the hand I have. Followed by the ProVari Radius. The Dani Mini just isn't quite long enough to be the "most comfortable" in my hand. Maybe the regular Dani Box would be, dunno. I wish the fire button was larger on the Dani Mini too. All that said, the Dani Mini IS comfortable and seems to be the mod I'm coming to use the most.

As far as the issues @classwife is having, I only have one other thing to add ...

Was the thing working before you took it out of the box? ... if so, put it back in the box and return it to CDV, but contact Keith there first. You didn't eat the chocolate already did you? ;)

Sorry you are having issues with the Dani Mini Classwife. :(

EDIT: And I dearly wish the Dani Mini changed wattage in .1W increments, .2W at the most, when vaping under 10W.

Regular Dani Box is only slightly taller than the mini, and it is wider, I love my blue mini, but will admit, I find the regular more comfortable to hold, just fits in my hand better.

When I said "long enough" and you said "wider" ... I think we're talking about the same thing :D

Then in that case, get a regular, you will probably like it more for comfort of holding, like I do ;)

For me it fits perfectly in my hands, maybe I have smaller hands? I may have just gotten used to the button, but maybe I am not to picky about it. How small the devise is, is what drew it to me in the first place. I also totally agree with you on the wattage adjustment, but it really has not been a problem for me. My:2c:

    :)
