Well, damn. I've coveted the Dani Mini blue since I first saw it. But I'm one that just hates to spend big money for something like that. With May approaching, I'd just about convinced myself that I could justify to myself getting a virtually 100 percent bulletproof, reliable, "liftetime" mod. And that I'd have to do it by May. Thanks, Mike & Hobbs, for depriving me of that! :(
... no problem. I'm just lookin' for dragons to slay LOL

Didn't realize my off topic post would be first on a new page (yes, that's me). D'OH
So anyway, here's another pic of my Dicodes pair. Nice to have something that leaves me wanting for nothing, after spending thousands of dollars on vape gear. Bonus: Building my own coils in the Kayfuns and will only occasionally need wire, cotton and non-flavored fuel of course. The tips are from Doggystyle 2K16's and chosen for size and draw. Just works for me. YMMV

EDIT: Dicodes V3 in pic on previous page is in 18500 mode. This one is in 18350 (i think. It's an older pic and I have both sleeves).

Well, I'm still planning on getting 2 more regardless of the current issue. Let's see 3 bad screens in how many thousands out there ... if it were a common problem by now we'd have heard much more about it.

and hmmm? What other high end mod had a stellar reputation. The Provape devices were right at the top of the hill. I had to return one 2.5 and one Radius that went wonky to get repaired.

If it's got electronics and led displays, some of 'em are going to have problems regardless of how good the manufacturing and QC is.

Yeah, I was only partly posting in jest. I have no doubt they're probably the best built option out there.

And while the quality is great, it is disappointing to hear of the number of issues out of the handful of people on this thread. This thread doesn't represent all their product out there. I've seen posts about issues unrelated to the displays.

Will it last 10 times longer than say, my Colossal that I paid $22.50 for, or my $26 Solo? No one knows, I guess. Like you say, they all have displays, and a chain is only as strong as its weakest link. I'm not saying I still won't get one for sure, that hearing of another failure is a dealbreaker- but this does make me think a little more, because I hadn't thought about servicing them. When you pay so much, you don't just toss if if it does fail. You'd have to deal with all the frustration & cost of shipping to Germany.

All that said, I know people don't buy products solely on reliability & product life anyway. Dicodes has a lot to offer in other respects. Sometimes, I'm just too pragmatic for my own good, I guess!

he, he ... I hear ya. We also have a number of Colossal's and Solo's. They vape as well as our Dicodes's and Radius devices. At least I can't tell a significant difference ... the topper for me makes more of a difference than the device powering it.

Like you said time will tell how the $20+ vs: $200+ mods stand up in the long run. I've asked myself many times ... do I buy 10 Solo's and put 8 on the shelf or do I buy 1 Dicodes and hope it lasts a lifetime. I suppose a lot of the decision depends on your pocket book and mental makeup about owning/possessing something that has a reputation of being a high quality item.

I suppose that's why I see KIA's and Landrovers when I'm out on the highway. They'll both get you from point A to point B.

Whelp at least it's already broken right? Trying for the silver lining. Unless it's my only option, I won't use DHL. Don't get me wrong they ROCK but I'd have to order oh, all the furniture for a house to justify those prices.

UPS is okay, marginally. They seem to do well in Europe.

To be fair most USPS overseas stuff has worked out just fine for me.

I ORDERED a SPECIAL custom Dicodes sleeve around Xmas so seeing all these Crème de vape ones is making me hungry.

Because mine is better but also not in my possession so WAY WORSE.

Time for an inquiry perhaps.

If you go to the actual manufacturer's home page leathercraftmen. com or something they will instruct you in how to care for the sleeve.

I got the grey one with the red stitching for the 21700 but I would like to actually you know, have it. LOL.

Anna
Who did you order the sleeve from Anna? Was it leathersleeves_com?
If it was them and you've tried contacting for updates but haven't gotten a response ... Dariusz Kowalski makes the sleeves, owns leathersleeves_com and this is his FB and you could try messaging him ... https://www.facebook.com/kowalio

Since messages on FB go to a "hidden" file if you aren't on someone's Friend list and message them, I don't know if he might not even see it, but you could try.

My sleeves from him were in stock and it still took about 15 days to get to me from Poland. If he had to custom make one like yours and during the holidays, I have no idea what a reasonable time would be.

Dariusz probably works his bum off trying to satisfy orders as a one man operation (as far as I know). He can't keep CdV stocked with them. They've been selling out there in pretty quick order. I can't imagine what his backorder for one off custom specials might be like.

Well, that's good to know. I didn't click on the link I merely observed it I was like, "You can read that later, go back to drooling."

I got my sleeve yesterday but I have not opened it yet, the house stuff (there are time limits) is driving me APE. I forgot it in my glove compartment last night. Sigh.A

I was hoping you'd be reporting this when I saw you'd posted. Although, on second thought, I'd rather you'd come here to announce victory on the house front.

My Dicodes V2 is back home. Here's the tail of it's journey

2020-01-31 - I mailed it USPS from my hometown in PA
2020-02-03 09:54, GERMANY, FRANKFURT, Departed -> Your item departed a transfer airport in FRANKFURT, GERMANY on it's transit to the destination.

Then there was no tracking information updates. I had been tracking it using 17track.com and it just stopped updates.
I tried the tracking number at the DHL site, but it wasn't even found there.

2020-02-13 I get an email from Dicodes saying "Today we returned your Dani Box V2 to you"

I emailed them back asking for a tracking number and was told "
"We are sorry, but with the special service „DHL Warensendung“ the packages normally cannot be tracked. It lasts a little bit longer, but it works fine. Nevertheless please find attached the corresponding label."
The 'number' on the mailing label didn't help me track it until it reach NY and was transferred to USPS.

2020-02-14 it was processed through Franfurt
2020-02-16 it arrived in NY
2020-02-19 it was delivered registered mail to my door.

Actually I was out for a walk around the neighborhood and my mail man pulled over and asked if I wanted to sign to a package. So it was delivered directly to me not my door. Bob, our mailman, is a great guy. I appreciate having a good mailman after some of the horror stories I heard of other people getting the mail and packages.

So total turnaround time was around 20 days and it cost me $23 to ship it to Germany.

PS: the day I got it back I placed an order with Creme de Vape for another V2. So now I'm waiting again for a Dicodes to show up. One must have backups
