i know, the math all works out the same:
the ohms double so
the amps is halved in theory
but now you are looking at the watts being inversely related to the square of the voltage and with the same current going through both coils there is more room for something to go off a little and turn one coil past red hot.
How do the coils look/vape at 7.4 volts? Not like a single at 3.7 i bet, but could be, the math says they should but it's not important.
What's important is will pumping the less amps through more coils prevent the gunk build-up.

There is a lot of empirical data on this to go with the theory...

Nice! there is hope for you yet. SLick move tossing in watts in the same sentence continuing the discussion on current. very nice.

and with the same current going through both coils there is more room for something to go off a little and turn one coil past red hot.

This would be due to ... umm... magic? bad flux capacitor? or are you just extrapolating from "1 coil has the potential for problems so 2 coils has to be twice as dangerous"?

How do the coils look/vape at 7.4 volts? Not like a single at 3.7 i bet,

and what would you be basing this bet on? gut feeling?

but could be, the math says they should but it's not important.

ding! we have a winner. "math is hard. Let's go shopping!".
You don't really trust math do you. I think this is the root of the problem?

Believe me Charley. Both coils run at about the same temperature as they would when single at 1/2 the voltage.

I can't say about the gunk yet. I've been running each coil at about 2.4 volts (4.8 total) today and don't see much difference in the buildup. However, it may not be as hard. Can't tell for sure yet.

are you vaping it with milk? ...sorry couldn't resist...

Can somebody explain why a 3Ω R4 that's been dry burned many times begins to snap, crackle, and pop?
I have a real champ that is making a lot of noise. Once in a while it's so loud I think it just blew, but it keeps going. Why?

I'll pass on that :) ...I am not in the mood try try too many more juices anymore unless it seems ironclad. I was SORELY disappointed in the quality of a very well known juice vendor here on ECF, it just seems they are so busy or something that they aren't QCing stuff...all of the bottles are BLAND with very muted tones of any flavor comign through...what ticks you off is they only allow you to buy 30 ml bottles so each juice hits you back 15 bucks and wow...I can get a 1.75L of my favorite canadian whiskey for that....

edit: I got five bottles @ 15 each...eeek...

O my, just had a snapper when I left for lunch, vaping like crazy and just went Pop in my mouth! DEAD! So is that what they do before they due. This is my first burial.

Sent from my Droid

This particular one has been getting louder day by day. I'd hate to see it give up the ghost, but it's been good to me from the start so no complaints.

the e2's design opens itself up to flaws plain and simple. Thats where the onconsistancies come in, i have 3 different ceramic cups so far, one is thicker then the other and the third is the thinnest.

Changes made to the cup affect the juice flowing around it for sure especially with the new sleeve on the cup.
If the wicks are arent placed and lengthened properly then issues can occur from that as well, the coil is not loose on all the r4's, i was told that is handled by a machine but then that machine is broken or shouldnt be used since the coils while loose on many can still be tight on many.

Modding has proven to alleviate many issues. So its not common to find some that crackle, others that dont, some that work great out the box, others that dont, some work better with thin juice and those people experience no issues while others juice dont work right etc...

It does seem people have been having much more success with the latest r4's, maybe the higher ohm and the cleaner wick and longer wick are the cause but there are still 4 to 5 out of 10 that need to be modded to perform better.

Right now e-liquid has a liquid special: you can add on 150 ml juice to your order for $18.80
(that means $3.76 per 30 ml)
