ok guys im sorry, sorry to rod as well but these things just aint gonna cut it, i lost many, i tried many, thin juice, thick juice it doesnt matter, they work for a minute while the wick is initialy wet but then the wicking goes to hell in a hand basket.

So for now I wont be reviewing these since they arent functional. Back tot he e2. this was a pricey mistake on my part but thats the entrance fee to play this game.

I think the design concept is good but it doesn't sound like the dimensions are correct. A shame whoever made these didn't start with the eGo diameter and go from their. Then they could have used a bigger wick in a bigger hole.

Oh well. Sounds like the Tankomizer is going to get chocked up to lack of R&D.

We culd use play doh (its food safe!) to seal all around the cup...

:)

...and then you can use a needle through the clay to fill...then press the clay back over the fill hole..

:)

hi5

I'm having great luck with the 3Ω R4 shorties, but with the filler ring out I'm constantly having to remember NOT to lay it down flat. If I could come up with a simple leak-stoppage method (aside from PTB) that didn't impede wicking I'd have this thing licked.

Are you actually using them right of the box or are you washing them out first? I find you HAVE to do that as more than half of them still have somethign nasty in them and when you wash them out you pull the filler ring and when you pull the filler ring good luck in getting it seated back properly and if you don't seat it back properly and/or leave the filler ring off good luck trying to fill/re-fill one in a non-syringed mod, trying to eyeball your fluid so it doesn't encroach the cup slits, etc., etc....

Allow me to clarify... I do clean each every one of them.

Out of the box.
ALL rings removed.
Vodka soaked overnight, then drained
Water-boiled in the microwave for 3 minutes (yes, I'll take pics if you have to have them)
Left to completely dry
Dry-burned
Filled (drip-filled)
Filler ring reinserted upside down
Add mouthpiece extension
Vape away
All you need is a toothpick or paperclip & 20 seconds to refill

I dunno bad I don't think so. I've tried several drip tips on mine. The problem is when you lay it down juice gets into the cup through the slots and finds its' way into the airtube. If I had a middle ring with a couple of nubs on the bottom the right size I could probably block most of the slots, but that's just something I see in my head that I don't have the equipment to make.

zioDman I have to wonder about the entire design. Even if you got it to wick you're still left with a coil that can't be easily cleaned (from the pics I've seen). That would last me about 1 day of normal use. Any workable design is going to have to allow access to the coil.

Bad, next time you talk to Martinez, pass along this list so he doesn’t have to remember it all or wade back through this whole thread:

1. Larger diameter/volume transparent tube
2. Better, cleaner QC
3. Relaxed coil windings
4. Pre-torch-cleaned wick materials
5. Cleaner, better QC
6. v1John’s plug & play replaceable coils/cups with wicks
7. Improved QC
8. 100% steam-clean sterilization of all units before shipping
9. An actual QC person
10. Packaging all – ALL – with condoms
11. A person to make sure the QC person shows up.
12. A separate HV model for High Viscosity juice with larger cup slits and braided wick strands.

If he meets all of the requirements, he can call it the ECF-1. And all of the above won’t cost him another 5 cents a unit at the volume they’re pushing them out…

I'll give your cleaning routine a go, I like it, I do the same nuked water and all except no vodka soak...but you still have issues on a refill eyeballing unless you stay very conservative...the filler ring flipped upside down doesn't seal the cup slots as a properly seated filler ring...seems to me it wouldn't be much more helpful than the middle ring turned flat side down....with the filler ring left in (or reseated properly) as engineered it gives you some indication and protection on overfilling...

Were there any issues at all with taste with that?

I think a good working solution would be to have them start making the filler rings out of PLASTIC again, and sizing them so they press fit into place over the cup. My R2's don't leak a drop no matter which way I hold them, and the filler rings aren't hard to remove/replace.

I use the inverted filler ring because it will collect condensate far better than the middle ring. With my extension, there is a lot of condensate – and it winds up in the stem if I use the flat ring.

I’ve filled them so many times that it’s easy. I use a small dropper from a 3 mil sample bottle I got somewhere a while back. 4 full droppers. Done.

Leaks?
Man, you guys are fast. No. No leaking. I carry these things around in my case all day. The worst that happens is my thin juices will work their way into the slits & stem, but one good stiff drag empties that out.
