Good points 'br', it seems like fixing the wick lengths would be the easiest thing for them to do.
Bad, I have been experimenting with the wick on several of these things, not just the ones that everyone have seen here. So far, the ones that I have extended the wicks on have improved the performance.
I wouldnt do that Stormy....at least take a match and see if it burns like plastic. ......
I've also extended the wicks, but I just pulled the two loops to the bottom and the resulting two ends are at the slits. In other words, I now only have two long loops all the way to the bottom (they're long enough to gather on the bottom). It seems to be wicking better for me.
It may perform better if they are all down there. It did for me, but that was going by only two examples. Not enough to be a good test yet.
I'll try tying extensions to the ends at the slits on the next dry burn. I'm also tempted to try cutting the loops to see if a bunch of strands as opposed to loops makes any difference.
I think it was 'bad' that cut the wick loop into strands. There was a reason why someone didn't like it, can't remember why..
oh, good to know! I won't waste my time then.
Personally, I'm not planning on tearing all my carts apart to lengthen the wick. I don't think it's a huge deal unless you NEVER tip your PV. In my observations on the syringe mods, The juice sticks to the wick like glue, so if you roll it, tip it or lay it down it's gonna stick to the wick. I think we have everyone who has ever bought them believing that they are literally "no good" because of the wicks, I don't believe this to be so. JMO

I sacrificed the cart and did an autopsy and found that when you unravel the wick, it will slide out from inside the coil. I ended up with a bunch of wadded up fibers in the cart reservoir, but very few that were still connected. When I put the ptb's in place, it pulled more out from inside the coil.
Yes guys, I forgot to mention why i did not like the unraveling method. it can be done succesfully but its pain once you start cleaning and reinserting ptb.
it can cause strands to pull out form the coil area
If you do another one in the future, use my old trick that I explained in a previous post. It seems to work just as well and is a lot easier to do.
I wouldnt do that Stormy....at least take a match and see if it burns like plastic. Even if it doesnt burn and its plastic...it can create some really bad chemicals from heating. Wood fibers are bleached and have binders in them too. But its up to you.
From wikipedia:
"Tea bag paper is related to paper found in milk and coffee filters. It is made with a blend of wood and vegetable fibers. The vegetable fiber is bleached pulp abaca hemp, a small plantation tree grown for the fiber, mostly in the Philippines and Colombia. Heat-sealed tea bag paper usually has a heat-sealable thermoplastic such as PVC or polypropylene, as a component fiber on inner side of the teabag surface."
i love the ptb modded syringe tank mod, works like a beast
oh and i officially hate the wick, the taste between the ptb and the wick is night and day.
