stephen, as long as anything we use isnt touching the heating element then its no like using filler in old cartos.
filler material in general has a funky taste but the wick doesnt, so adding more wick isnt equivalent to using filler.

That's a good point. It would be nice to have something a bit more elegant looking for these clear mods we're doing; it's looking like a spider web in there.

For those with short wick problems (not being rude here lol) have you tried cutting the loops on one side near the cup slots and poking it back down. That way you'd have at least two single thickness wicks reaching the bottom of the tank and still have the full thickness running through coil.

if your wicks are short you can CAREFULLY pull the wick through the coil to lengthen them i have done this to a couple and it helps wicking the carto dry its ALOT easier to do this when the carto is new and ALOT easier to do while creating the syringe mod bc the carto is cut open..

don't worry about that,
that would be the final touches, and can include custom cones and sleeves; in other words it could be a tube cover for the transparent carto.

They make laminated tubes already. Some tubes could be found to be used as carto/ecig sleeves, look at this link for example:

Any word on whether we can buy the e2 without the cartos yet?

I hope the genisis doesn't have my liquid like this, I like my coffee with cream and sugar, lol. No, what I really mean is ...to ask if the liquid stays healthy long enough to vape. If not, then I wonder if the sideways mesh instead of a coil on the e2 cup would solve some problems.

On a standard ecig, the liquid goes up to the cup anyway, so there is no need for wick all over the place inside the carto, imo.

What problems? The liquid not staying healthy long enough to vape? Do you have any pics of unhealthy liquid?

On a standard ecig, the liquid goes up to the cup anyway, so there is no need for wick all over the place inside the carto, imo.

Standard ecigs don't have "cups" and they have filler to get the juice to the coil or short wick/bridge. If an E2 doesn't have filler and doesn't have wick I guess the juice will get to the "wick disk" just fine as long as you always vape with it horizontal.

well if the liquid looks like the one in that picture above, I think think it could cause psychosomatic problems

now, with the e2 disk, that can be removed also, and just put ptb around the cup, and fill the empty cup with convoluted black nichrome.
What in the hell is convoluted black nichrome?

br i got a bone to pick with you, you better be down in the basement working

Well its back to taking all my rings off and running under hot tap or boiling. I was successful just dry burning my first 2-3 cartos of these new XL E2s I got and they worked fine but then I tried not doign anything but blowing through them just to see and got a horrible petroleum acrid vape (so lost a carto full of my fave juice). Dryburned next one without boiling and not as horrid but it still wasn't good. When I took the rings off the remaining new cartos there was fluid, not dripping, but the filler ring was dirty and their was soem sort of moisture there...

The thing I do NOT like about disassembling all the rings is that filler ring can be tough to get back in there just right and if you don't get it back in there properly you have problems with leakign into the cup and clogging the airpassage and pissing away a cart of juice...

For those of you who use ptb at the cup slits or the poly supplied with the cartos, do you place the filler ring back on?

it just works so well for me, the middle ring works OK, but that white ring seats so well on the cup and i even cut slits in it to help dripping, minor point, most of mine have no sealing ring, white or middle, but it's the top white one for me if i want one to not leak. Even with my slits in the side it doesn't leak much and a drip or two brings it back up if not gunked up too much
YES I WAS TALKING ABOUT THE WHITE MOUTHPIECE, where did cup from?????
