I have a total of 7 syringe mods that I did a little experiment with all last week and this is what I have seen.
The R3.5's definately turn the juice a funky color in a short time! Still work good but dark juice. The R4's do not! I did a dry burn after each empty tank and never got a bad taste. I used the existing wicks on all of them and never got the dry taste. I plan on using the PTB but didn't want too many variables in this test. Overall, I think the syringe mod delivers enough to make me happy as my all day vape.
Yesterday, I decided to clean alll of them. Took the syringe off each, ran under hot water for about 10 seconds and found that the coil goes red almost immediately after wet with water. The dry burn took no more than 10 seconds as well. I dried the wicks with a paper towel, added juice and just like that, it's better than brand new! Used one all day yesterday and couldn't be happier. I think I'm going to try rinsing and dry burning after each tank, maybe 2. I love my syring mods!

How did you get the syringe off your E2's innards? I only left about 1mm sticking out of the syringe so I have nothing to grab onto.

You know what would solve a lot of our problems?

A self-cleaning juice!

Not sure if you were serious or not…

But if the cause if wick “gunking” could be found it would make all these mods and the 10K worth of associated posts obsolete. It’s the gunk that causes the carto to taste bad. Eliminate the formation of the gunk and your going to have a carto that tastes the same refill after refill until the coil wire breaks. And that is a long, Long time.

BTW – Just picked up a 9800 mAh PCC for my eGo to take on a camping trip. That’s right. 9800 mAh.

Of course I was serious! :p I think it'll be a long time in coming, though...

"You kids today today don't know how good you got it. When I was your age we actually had to CLEAN our cartomizers!"

How about a picture of that PCC?

My new PCC is a Digipower EBP-NB60 Li-Polymer External Battery.

It has a capacity rating of 4,400mAh @ 11.1v which works out to about 9,800mAh @ 5.0v. That should be enough to charge a 900mAh ego battery about 10 times. :2cool:

I got some new syringes at my local feed store. The company is not labeled but it says 'made in the US for single use only'. The base is slightly smaller then the medical ones I got so I'm confident they'll work better at the base.

When you use the black plunger on the top 'storm' I'm assuming you poke a hole through it for air flow? How close to the cup do you have it?

I sit it right on top, but I have just been testing the filler pieces with the slit cut a little larger. It's working well so far.
