OK.
What are the possible "issues" using the "ordinary" PG ?
Some people find it irritating, just like others may be sensitive to VG, although PG sensitivity is more common than VG.

I can say so far that PEG400 seems to be a reasonable alternative. I have been vaping max VG with 10% DW, which improved my vape but didn't do much for my crazy VG clouds.

I found out I was PG sensitive when my sx actually got worse when I started vaping and my good PCP (who vapes) suggested removing most of it. Which has worked. I couldn't figure out what was happening at first, I was annoyed that I was worsening my pneumonia, not improving it. Different folks seem to have different sx when it comes to PG, but mine was a "pins and needles numb but also painful sensation on inhale, especially at higher percentages, so I'm happy to have an alternative. If regular PG is working for you, there is absolutely no need to change it.

I don't know whether it is the PG, VG or the nicotine, never the less, I do have an "issue" anyway.
When I started to vape (a year ago), I realised, that the skin on my hands became very dry and tend to crack. Periodically I get reddish spots that looks like slight psoriasis.
Last november and december, I didn't vape at all (no, I didn't smoke tobacco either). I just didn't feel the need. The skin irritation disappeared.
Last week, I started to vape again and the same symptoms shows up again.
I wonder which of the components I'm allergic for ?

You'll have to test it out. I think PG is more "drying" but I could be way off base on that. It could also be flavorings. Since people tend to have less problems with VG (although some say too high VG causes a "heavy" feeling in the lungs, I did not ever have that issue) might want to try some unflavorered high VG juice, and if that works, you have your answer. After that, depending on your reaction, you will know where to go next (flavors, would be my next guess, it is possible to have sensitivities there) adding in slowly a flavor at a time and keeping an eye on your symptoms.

To find out if it is the PG doing it (remember, it's in flavoring as well) I'd probably try 90VG and 10 DW and no flavors. You won't have to suffer through this a long time, a week or so ought to give you an idea if your sx are improving. I really even try to get most of my flavorings in VG (not always possible) but I flavor very sparingly. I think I was at 80/20 when I found out I was PG sensitive, and when I vape the husband's 50/50 liquid I KNOW at once that I am PG sensitive, it is horrid.... So, if you are going to go for the elimination method, I really wouldn't include any PG at all.... Then maybe try slowly adding it in to see what you can tolerate and etc.

E-Cigs: Uncertainy on Risks, Benefits to Public Health

"expert analysis of more than 800 e-cigarette studies concludes that it is not yet possible to categorize e-cigarettes. "E-cigarettes cannot be simply categorized as either beneficial or harmful," writing committee chair David Eaton, PhD, of the University of Washington in Seattle, said in a statement"

"Electronic cigarettes are not safe, but there is conclusive evidence that they are less risky than smoking combustible cigarettes," Goniewicz said. "The evidence is very clear on this."

Scott, you'd still win before me. If there were 11 prizes and and I was one of 10 entries, I still wouldn't win.

I have even worse luck. If you look for anything I enter I can boost you up the last by one.

It's a very conservative position paper. Yes vaping beats smoking. Yes safety will likely vary by hardware selection. Yes long term data remains to be collected. They do think there is second hand nicotine exposure and maybe some metal exposure although that flies in the face of that CDC study that was based off the CA dept of health testing in a vape shop.

It does go on and on about teen use and gateway to combustible tobacco. And flavors tempting innocent teens down a dark path to hell. All in all something for every side to point to in support of their own opinions and biases.

Is it just me......

Every time she says "sx" my mind goes in the gutter.

I have no idea what that acronym may mean to minds in the gutter, but seriously the day I stop typing out symptoms as "sx", well, I guess I'll be done with clinical work entirely. LOL. I better start practicing.
