Speaking of wire types, any thoughts on this?

Saw this when Ron put it out. Thought many scoffed at the time. I didn't. I'm not a fan, I taste it. And there are risks if you push straight Ni wire. NiCr, lot's come out in factory coils. Don't think most can tell. I wouldn't run any variant personally but I have vaped a lot of it sampling on my own and other's gear. New vapers, many don't know what they're getting into when they throw this stuff into sub-lowΩ, multi-wire, multi-plus-coil gear, I think.

There used to be a stronger ethic to dispel new vaper fantasies when I hit the gate here. Very few reservations I see from vape shops who just assume the buyer knows theses days. At least the impression from talking to starters and even non-rebuilding long term vapers who just get handed most anything as if it were interchangeable if it screws in.

That's screwed up. That's why I persist on the premise of a baseline. The alternative may quite possibly be the imposition of limiting standards I firmly believe. But I don't choose preferences for folks especially on marginal risk. I'd rather work on developing user's interest in making effective and safe choices themselves. You can only lead the horse to water anyway…

This is a wonderful thread but clearly of most benefit to the more experienced in our community. I wish it wasn't just.

Good luck. :)

Not many, other than the guy has two Himalayan salt lamps in the background. ;)

So what's wrong with a lil salt between friends. ;)

A concept that's been on my mind today, actually. How would one instruct a smoker turning vaper into the world of Temp Limiting, Mike? I doubt that pastability. By the time they hear coil, temp, liquid, TL, mods, chargers...... they'd be off running to the corner store faster than the Road Runner to get a pack of Marlboro's.

Absolutely nothing. I have one in my bedroom (in the spirit of full disclosure). I also use Himalayan salt (and Celtic salt) in cooking. Dead Sea salt is divine (I bathe in it). ;)

Good question, and I dont think the answer exists "today". In todays world TC is one possible avenue for those that have already committed themselves to vaping, and are looking for more (better, strong, safer, repeatable, whatever). It also requires a little bit of "geek" because as Evolv said in the PB videos, it is too "fiddly".

TC will become newbie territory when it comes built into Pod Mods that require little to no learning curve.

I go to Israel every couple of years for work, I have vowed that the next time I go, I will take a few vacation days and visit the Dead Sea.

I didn't either. I don't scoff--I do my research. :)

Not a fan either, but I only tried what came in a premade coil. I think that Ni is on its way out, anyway. Evolv chose Ni when they first started and I'm pretty sure that Brandon, John and the rest of the team did their research, but many discussions wrt safety concerns followed. Ni wire is also very difficult to work with. From what I'm reading on the boards, most vapers prefer SS and Ti, anyway.

You should. There's nothing in the world like the Dead Sea. BTW, DS salts are the only known cure for psoriasis.

TI for me please, though SS is nice because it will work in watts mode too. I would steer newbs towards SS for that reason.

Really? What do you like about Ti? I remember imeothanasis and his praise of Ti wire.
Decent to work with, uses less power than other wires, lasts long, no off taste, and I can make TC Claptons out of it.
