So it seems as though society has moved into the "smoking is wrong/bad/nasty" etc. etc. and I used to/still do feel guilty for smoking in public (I have not completely quit analogs)

I am finding that I'm feeling just as weird for vaping in public/infront of other people then I did for smoking...

Do you?

Is this something I'll just get used to?

Overall, no.

I didn't like to smoke in front of my nephews and niece. The niece is older now and I vaped around her with no qualms when I saw her just after starting. It remains to be seen with the nephews since they are still pretty young. The strangest so far is in my parents house. They don't allow smoking but when I told them what vaping is and they looked into it they decided to allow me to vape inside if the juice doesn't stink, so fruits or coffee only in their house.

I never cared what strangers thought of smoking so I definitely don't care what they think of vaping.

When I first started vaping, I actually felt more weird vaping in front of others than I did smoking. I got over that very rapidly :D. The more times you vape out and about, the faster it becomes more natural. It's funny, when I go to a bar I really don't notice people looking. But they must be because as they are embolden by their drink, that is when they get the nerve up to ask me about it. They all seem to get that it is an ecig, it's mostly questions about what the liquid is or does it really work.

The more people that see this, the more normal this becomes. It's an education for smokers and non-smokers alike.

You will get used to it, if you let yourself ;)

It's normal at first to feel a little self-conscious when you first vape openly. But once you have the opportunity to explain the benefits of vaping to someone who asks about it and they give you a thumbs up for your change in life style, you will find vaping in public has good results.

The more we vape openly but respectfully, the more acceptance we will garner for vaping and the fact that vaping is not smoking and is not harmful for those near by. But it is incumbent on us to be well informed on the characteristics of vaping so we can educate the uninformed.

If we act like it is the same as smoking, then it will viewed as the same as smoking, which is the last thing we as vapers should want. It's unfortunate that some vapers don't understand that.

Not anymore. Not in the least.

Vaping has become a badge of honor and I'm proud to do it in front of others and be part of the movement to normalize it. I've converted a few career smokers at work, the types of people (like myself) who had resigned to being a smoker for the rest of their lives.

Think about the impact tobacco has had on humanity. You are part of a revolutionary movement. Be proud of your wise choice to vape instead of smoke.

Nah I feel cooler than smokers as I'm doing a more modern and healthier version of the old habit and in front of non smokers I kind of don't care. Have had a few people say to me 'no smoking!' on the subway but then I show them what my pv is and they get it and leave me alone. My manager lets me vape in the office after I explained the second hand vapor was no different to what comes out of the humidifiers they use in winter.... I do work in China though, doubt that would fly back home ha ha.

I avoided vaping in public and actually started on the cigarette lookalikes to avoid strange stares and vowed never to buy one of the big mods. After a while the cig lookalikes didn't seem to do the trick anymore and now I smoke a rsst on a sigelei telescope out and about even have it nicknamed "the crackpipe" by friends, really doesn't bother me now :)
