Hi, all

I want to say "hi" and "thanks!" I'm a 2nd-generation Phoenix native, and work with computers.

I've been vaping for a few months and stopped analogs last week after I got good gear. My wife's been off analogs for two months. We started with NeverLightAgain (NLA) ecigs from a smoke shop. They were ok and stealthy, but my wife would kill one off within a few days. Keeping her in pre-filled carts and new batteries was costing more than analogs.

At Defcon in Vegas this year I ran into a VIP member when I was outside smoking. He had something eGo-sized, with a MAP tank. It looked cool, made luxurious amounts of vapor, and I had hardware envy. The final nudge was when my employer became smugly "smoke and tobacco-free" on July 1. I remembered the guy talking about VIP (I'm miserable with names. Thanks, young Helpful Guy!) did a lot of Google homework, then got the 1344 eGo-T(Tank) Starter Kit.

Wife-dear wore out one of the atomizers about 8 days later, and I started researching accessories for the eGo-T. She killed off a 284 Smoktech EGO MEGA Dual Coil Cartomizer in about 4 days. I still have one, but I'm not crazy about it since I like to change flavors occasionally. My current cart is the Vision CC eGo Clearomizer (CE5), my favorite so far.

I still have a couple of the 1370 Joye eGo-T(Tank) LR Atomizers. I like being able to swap in a tank with a different flavor juice. Speaking of which, my current favorite juice is Boge Cigar. I think it tastes like Starbucks toffee-nut syrup. After work today I hope to visit the Zikwid Lounge and pick up a couple new flavors to try. Considering a mix, maybe mint and clove.

Thanks again for all the info; it was a joy to finally learn that a "drip tip" doesn't require antibiotics.

Welcome to vaping and VIP, surreal! We have a meet coming up next weekend, please come and hang out with us! Great people here, and we're always glad for new faces.

I'm a big fan of eGos, they got me off the cigs last year. I wish we had clearomizers like this when I was starting out. Have you tried the eGo Twist battery yet? They're fantastically versatile and very affordable for being variable voltage.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I'm going to try to make the meeting and see what I can learn. If I hadn't met Helpful Guy I'd still be buying NLAs every other day.

What does variable voltage do for you? I get how SR and LR would behave differently, although I haven't heard it described in any detail. I'd supposed that LR might be cooler and last longer but the only comment I recall reading suggested that LR was hotter and dryer. Hmm.

I'm not much of a socialite, but I hope to listen and suck up some useful intel so I'm looking forward to it. Good beer and good food are always welcome too.

P.S. I thought I was about to magically learn about VV when the software turned it into a link, but the link's b0rken.

You know how great the hit is off a battery that's just come off the charger? That's what variable voltage gives you, the ability to get that same hit all the way through the charge of your battery. Sure, you can hotrod up and down the dial to get different levels of heat, flavor, and vapor, which is handy - but the single best thing about VV is that you can set it and forget it (to borrow a phrase from Ron Popeil), and you get the same amount of power to your vape all day long.

The voltage range on a Twist isn't as much as on a bigger VV mod like the Provari or the Lavatube (they generally go from 3.0v to 6.0v where the Twist goes from 3.2v to 4.8v) but it's still plenty enough range for most vapers, and for the size and cost you just can't beat it.

Looking forward to making your acquaintance in person and hope to see you there!

p.s. re: SR/LR, LR burns hotter than SR. The lower the resistance, the more energy is shed by the coil instead of letting it pass through to the completed circuit. That shed energy is the heat that boils the juice in your wick that makes the vapor.

Lately I've been really enjoying Halo's Belgian Cocoa - which I got to try at a VIP meet and then promptly ordered a bottle - and their Tribeca's pretty good. I'll bring bottles of both so you can give 'em a toot. We'll also have a 10ml bottle of their Cafe Mocha (I think that's what it's called) in the raffle. The next meet is this upcoming Sunday, 1pm!

Hi everyone!

I'm fairly new to the forum and to vaping. I've only lived in Phoenix about a year now so I'm still pretty new to the area as well.

It's awesome to have a community about things going on in our area though. Fantastic!! :D

I'm hoping to get to come to this month's meet up. Unfortunately I work in food service so Saturdays usually tend to be pretty full of work stuffs, but we'll see what happens :)

Hiya bea! Most of the time the meets are on Sunday, but we try to do two Saturday meets a year for the benefit of those who have other stuff going on Sundays. December's meet will be on a Sunday again.

Anyway, welcome to vaping, Phoenix, and the ECF! Holler if you have any questions and hope you can make it to the meets!

Hi VIP's,

New to ECF. Not entirely new to e-cigs. Been living in the valley for nearly 14 years. Came across Desert Vapes thanks to this sub. So thanks for that!

Having a great time vaping.

Rather than re-hash my initial post (made during my 5-post internment), I'll just link it HERE.

Looking forward to attending a vape meet in the near future and buying some of you folks a beer!

Welcome to VIP, SomeWhatCertain! Hope you can make the meet next weekend, there's a lot of great folks who vape in Phoenix! Desert Vapes will be in attendance and selling, but if you want to buy something specific from him at the meet it's a good idea to email him in advance so he can be sure to bring it.

Thanks! The hospitality on ECF is amazing.

Not sure if I'll be able to make the meet next weekend, but I'm kicking the idea around. My wife is not yet into vaping (still on tobacco) and I would love for her to come with me for a good time.

If I'm able to attend, a main goal for me would be getting my hands on my very own Mesh-RBA. Really looking forward to trying one.

Whats ups VIP members! New to ecigs. Just got into vaping after hearing about it in another forum. I picked up a starter kit and some juices. Hoping to learn about a couple of different mods and some good juices. I'll be heading to one of the shops in dysart and bell today to check it out and maybe pick up a couple different flavors. This is what I have right now.

Camel E-Liquid, Ry4 E-Liquid, Energy Cow E-Liquid, Kool E-Liquid

Joyetech w/ Vision eGo Clearomizer 1000mAh Starter Kit
