New York "Open Legislation" website - comments needed

New York Senate have an "Open Legislation" website where you can comment on Bills in progress.

The page for S7234 (the one that will result in a de facto ban in NY State) is here: S7234 - NY Senate Open Legislation - Prohibits the sale of electronic cigarettes to minors and items not defined as a tobacco product or approved by the FDA as a tobacco use cessation or harm reduction - New York State Senate

There's only 17 comments so far, so I strongly recommend everyone goes there and says their piece!

I posted a lengthy comment a couple of weeks ago, at a time when none at all were showing. But it does not appear. Arrgh!

Edit: I looked again, and discovered the comments are separated between the two versions of the bill - and mine does show up under the Assembly version's page.

So I guess that means we all have to post twice. the Assembly page for comments is here:

As far as I can see, it's still showing 17 comments under the Senate version of the bill, and 35 under the Assembly version.

Does this mean that they voted on it yesterday and it actually did pass.

Sorry law is not my expertize.

The Assembly passed the bill.

But it still has to get approved by the Senate Health Committee, and then the full Senate.

Let's make sure we stop it!

Comments need to be posted on the Senate page for the bill, link as above in the OP, and we need to keep up the flow of calls and letters and email or faxes to the Senate Health Committtee members.

I don't know if you saw my other post about this, but they have the comments split up according to which version of the bill you were looking at when you posted - Senate or Assembly, even though they are identical.

Your comment is showing up under A9529, as are my two, and there are 35 in total.

17 comments are showing up under S7234. So we all need to post again if we only posted on the Assembly version page, especially since the bill has already passed in the Assembly, and it is critical to do everything we can to stop it in the Senate.

That seems quite possible, nojoyet. My comments took a very long time (many days, if not weeks) before they showed up.

Yes, I did post to the Senate version yesterday, at which point there were 17 prior comments. The number hasn't changed. If this bill will be considered on the 27th, they need get the lead out in posting comments.
