I've been vaping about a month or so, trying to quit smoking. I’ve only had maybe 3 cigs. I’m wondering how fast people switch from AIO’S TO mod’s. I’ve bought 2 aio’s and juul. I feel like I’m not getting what I want, but I’m not sure what I’m missing. Maybe being able to fiddle with a mod would get me there.

Hi, Welcome to ECF. While some pods can get great flavor, I'm sort of glad I skipped that step.

Resistance ALONE is not what determines the amount of e-liquid vaped, it's wattage applied to resistance. So if your wattage is fixed (not sure with that setup) going to a lower resistance coil in and of itself, is not going to produce more vapor, necessarily, although it can. That usually happens in variable wattage setups as a person lowers resistance wattage tends to increase (usually but not always) and wattage tailored to low resistance will give you more vapor, usually the lower the resistance, the higher wattage used, but some systems are designed to take various types of coils, without changing wattage. It may change the vaping experience some but not always enough to warrant changing juice strength (although you certainly can, if you are feeling that you are getting more vapor "volume".

I'd say jump to a mod and tank when you feel "ready" and "interested" and etc. I'd poke around and do some research first, and you will likely find you have more questions when the time comes, and ask those questions then, and prior to purchasing. You can always use your pod mod as a backup and/or stealth vape and/or etc.

Welcome to ECF and I hope you enjoy your time here! Best of luck and we will all be happy to help if you decide on selecting a setup. Usually a good starting point is what you like/dislike about your current setup, like do you want more vapor production or clouds, or may be more happy with a more mouth to lung setup with less clouds and etc. The great thing about vaping currently is there are many excellent options in most areas, so you won't lack for ideas to choose from. Etc.

Only 3 cigs in a month's time? Dude, you're practically smoke-free! Stop bumming cigs or buying them.

It took me about a week to quit dual using with a cigalike starter kit. I was getting frustrated with the weak battery life and small liquid capacity of the cigalikes. I knew I was missing something. After 3 weeks, I advanced up to a mod and tank setup and it was a gamechanger.

With the mod and tank, I was getting stronger batteries, longer lasting batteries (like all day use), and only having to fill my tank once a day. It was an overall better vaping experience. In hindsight, it's pretty difficult for a small battery / small juice delivery device (cigalikes and pod systems) to simulate a real cigarette experience.

I suggest that you move up to a variable wattage battery device so that you can adjust the the power output to your desired vaping experience, whether that be one with an internal battery or one that uses external batteries (preferred). Get a recommended tank that has a 2 - 4 ml liquid capacity, whether that be a tank that uses normal or sub-ohm coils.

3 cigs in a month is a great start! Baditude also has some good threads to look at for your next move.

Most of us experimented with different devices before finding the one we like. Don't worry about it because once you have it dialed in, vaping is much cheaper than smoking. Stick with this and you'll be very glad you did.

I have that kit, and I love the Eleaf Invoke mod, it's one of my favorites. Not the hugest fan of the tank, but I don't do sub0hm very much. I think you may like it a great deal, though.

My husband is still smoking too, well dual using, but he was still just smoking when I quit. You can do it. I just kept reminding myself that I could obtain cigarettes anywhere, anytime, unless I wanted to move to the Sahara desert or something, which I was not willing to do.

Best of luck, I hope you enjoy your kit.

Howdy I am new to postings also

I don't think I am wrong in saying you Maybe not high enough nicotine in mgs? If I am wrong please someone chime in and correct me. The 12 mgs of mgs did nothing for me. Missing something...Yea the nicotine mg wass too weak at 12mg but I was a heavy hitting smoker.

For me I did what everyone said start at 12mg..I was using a Evod Clearomizer tank. Hated that thing as only held a small amount of fluid.
So heck no NOT enough/strong nic in it. I then tried 18mg that was better. It was when I switched to mixing 18 and 24mg when the urge was bad worked for me.

My Now Sub ohm tank is the eleaf Ello TS Atomizer/tank that holds 4ml
Use the HW2 coils and I LOVE IT. Not a juice hog like some tanks can be.
When using Sub ohm tanks I still have to cheat at times use a 6mg and squeeze in a tid of 11mg on top for bad days. Maybe making it a 7 or 8mg

Hopefully someone will holler at me if I am wrong.
But I think its your set up and nicotine level if I am reading you correct.
Congrats on how well you are doing! Be Proud you are on your way to no stinkys!

You could be right. I’ll just have to get used to it as I want be nic free. I smoked a pack a day but I would smoke them hard and fast.
