Hi, Welcome to ECF. While some pods can get great flavor, I'm sort of glad I skipped that step.
Resistance ALONE is not what determines the amount of e-liquid vaped, it's wattage applied to resistance. So if your wattage is fixed (not sure with that setup) going to a lower resistance coil in and of itself, is not going to produce more vapor, necessarily, although it can. That usually happens in variable wattage setups as a person lowers resistance wattage tends to increase (usually but not always) and wattage tailored to low resistance will give you more vapor, usually the lower the resistance, the higher wattage used, but some systems are designed to take various types of coils, without changing wattage. It may change the vaping experience some but not always enough to warrant changing juice strength (although you certainly can, if you are feeling that you are getting more vapor "volume".
I'd say jump to a mod and tank when you feel "ready" and "interested" and etc. I'd poke around and do some research first, and you will likely find you have more questions when the time comes, and ask those questions then, and prior to purchasing. You can always use your pod mod as a backup and/or stealth vape and/or etc.
Welcome to ECF and I hope you enjoy your time here! Best of luck and we will all be happy to help if you decide on selecting a setup. Usually a good starting point is what you like/dislike about your current setup, like do you want more vapor production or clouds, or may be more happy with a more mouth to lung setup with less clouds and etc. The great thing about vaping currently is there are many excellent options in most areas, so you won't lack for ideas to choose from. Etc.
