My first car was a old beat up Valiant. if I started with a Caddy I probably would not appreciate it as much.
I do value your opinion

+1! I agree with you...sometimes its nice to have a comparison to be able to appreciate things....

This has been a really good thread. and they guys have offered good friendly advice....I am a noob myself and started with the Blu....but have now moved on to the Vapornine AMP XL. and two eGo's...the Twist and the Variable Volt Mega(some call it the K-go)

I can tell you...my vaping experience, and therefore my success as a ex smoker has been greatly enhanced by using better equipment....BUT my ex wife and many of my friends that I have been converted using e-cigs that look more like cigarettes...a good friend just bough a Kr808d device and LOVES it......so use what works for you!!

I wish you the best of luck Skip! I'm just two hours north of you in Jacksonville, but my former fiance lives in Titusville...shes a Vice Principal there...so its not a bad drive...spend the day up here one day...go to Vapornine...and we can meet up for vape and lunch!

Skip, I'm glad to hear that things are going well!

Hey, please tell us more about how you're liking this whole vaping thing! These are your first actual puffs, right? As someone said - in this thread I think - it can be really exciting when you first realize that "hey - this might actually work! I might actually be able to finally stop smoking cigarettes!" It was really exciting for me, because I was so damn hooked, even after quitting once - cold turkey - for eight years, never imagining they'd come back and hook me again for another 17.

So how about it, Skip? So far, how much like smoking is it? Does it look like this is gonna do it for you? Can you feel those killer ciggies losing their grip on you? And just remember, you can vape just about any flavor you can imagine, so if those three aren't quite rocking your world, there are going to be plenty that will.

I love the smell of vapor in the morning .... it smells like .... victory! :)

I started vaping and got off cigs with a cig look-alike. Now I do admit that compared to other things that can be used, they weren't the greatest at all but they worked for me and helped me quit smoking. Eventually I went to 3.7v with an E-Power (similar to KGO/EGO). And was thrilled to death and thought I'd found heaven. After maybe 2-3 months I wasn't getting satisfied and went to VV and boom! The sky was falling and I was in heaven again. I thought I could only have VV and vape at 5V to be satisfied. I actually now prefer lower voltage with some of my juices and am totally satisfied. What I love the most about e-cigs is that it's fun to be able to try new things and different things satisfy you at different times. There's nothing wrong with a cig look-alike. It got me off the cigs so it worked. I still carry a couple in my purse for those awkward occasions where I need to smoke in front of certain people and don't want to be embarrassed by pulling out my big Provari or my wooden box mod bottom feeder. LOL.

I like this:
I love the smell of vapor in the morning .... it smells like .... victory!

I have had chest cold after chest cold. sore and all plugged up. taking tussen and all to clear it up an dafter the Dr. appt this week I had pretty much decided that this weekend was it!!! either I quit or give this E Cig thing a try. I researched for 3 days online asked questions here. found some local people on Facebook and found LJ's a Vape store not far away. so Thursday was my first exposure to E Cigs. Lee was really good with me explained stuff tried several juices. and off I went. being determined really helped. but it seems I am taking to it well . ciggy free and liking it. When I went to bed Thursday I pretty much knew it was looking good as I did not have the urge for that pre-bedtime smoke. Is it like smoking yes and no. I did not get a "cig a like" I got a ejoy with a tank that you fill up. so the vapor is a lot like smoking it has the nicotine, I exhale a smoke like vapor. the flavor is different but I am liking it. I seem to like the Winston flavor best. and for a treat I use the apple cider flavor 3-4 times a day. I did get a extra tank so I just unscrew one and put on the other. I plan on going to LJ's Saturday with my wife and get a back up battery probably a ejoy twist and another tank and try some different juice. I also like that there is alot of support on here and it dosn't seem like a drop dead type of thing. If i slip up and have a smoke the world will not end.
So all in all I smell Victory and alot of it is thanks to you and all the others that have been helping me in this little journey so far!

up date working on day 5. no real nailbiting but there were time I thought it would be nice. Missed on in my hand. may get one of the ciggie likes fro the short term on that.

Not out of the ordinary for vapers to go back and cheat now and again. Might be a good thing because when/if you do, you will realize how worthless cigs are.

Good luck converting your wife. That has to be difficult to quit with a loved one still going at the stinky sticks!!

I know what u mean I'm at about the same point you are...5 days...and know what u mean. I was in the car this morning and all of a sudden had this terrible smell come in through my window. The guy a couple cars ahead had an analog he was piping away at...wow I forgot how bad those things smell. This sense of smell thing people talk about is really cool I'm starting to get mine back slowly!

Again good luck keeping off the cigs and best of luck on your wife!

Agree 100%. I've said this quite a few times while "proselytizing" for e-cigs; "You know how the ads for "Chantix" say that you can smoke for the first week? Well with vaping, you're free to smoke for the rest of your life. You just won't want to, because this is more enjoyable." If a beginner tells me they're tempted to smoke one, I'll tell them to go ahead and smoke one. exactly as you said, they'll very likely discover that it suddenly sucks in comparison.

My wife is still smoking and it is starting to not smell real good. working on her next.

She'll come around; most "significant others" seem to.

But just in case she doesn't, there's always .....

How so?¿? There are many people on here to help? Just ask away.

I have GOT to make a post with every single link to every single thing I've recommended to you, Skip, and post it in here.

Two or three Joyetech eGo-C Twists or Vision Spinners, 900 mah

Two or three Vivi Nova tank/attys, 3.5ml or 2.0ml

Two chargers (one for backup)

Box of five cartomizers, unpunched, unflanged, 2.0 - 3.0 ohm single coil

Optional but nice: Lanyard and trim ring

Juice, lots. 18mg, 80% PG/20% VG. A month's supply would be good; the equivalent of 6 - 30ml bottles. I'm getting the feeling that a lot of people skimp on juice when just starting out; both on variety of flavors, and quantity. When setting out to defeat smoking, please don't try to squeeze pennies. Job #1 is to be successful at quitting, not retire early.

update I am now just this side of 2 weeks and doing good. I started with a basic EGO set up and that is working fine with me. Over the weekend I went to LJ's to get a back up battery and ended up with a EGO VV and that is good also. It wasn't much more than the basic 1100 battery but it is a 650. I seem to like most of my juice at 4.5V and I like the CE4 clearomisers. I do use both battery's on different flavors my black cherry is good at 3.7. I want to thank every one that jumped in to help me out. It did and still means a lot that so many care so deeply about a NOOB and jumped in to help me out. So I will be haunting the forum and look forward to seeing my new found friends

Thanks
