My Number 1 goal is to get people off of cigarettes, and if I'm going about it the wrong way, I'd really like to know about it.

I'm a newbie-oldie, and my advice would to approach any new user with a simple qualifier (prior to making strong affirmations to any device, VV or not):

"There are various setups that work for various types of people. How much are you looking to spend, and how much time/energy do you have to devote reading, researching, and posting on the forum? Whatever your answer is, we will find something that works for you"

I just went into a tobacco shop on Sept 11 and bought a Blue Star kit (Joyeteche eGo spinoff) with some reg tobacco flavour and an extra CE4 clearomizer and quit smoking....simple as that. Since then I've purchased the EGO twist and several other flavours of juice. I think what has kept me from smoking all this time has been the fun I'm having trying out the different flavours and gadgets associated with vaping. I read these pages costantly...and take what I need.
My favorite vape today (tomorrow it may change) is a mixture I made with Cohiba from VZ, Swagger and Outlaw 555 from the Pink Spot Vapors, and a few Drops of Rum from Awesome Vapors.

I got a lead on a store 30 mins from my house so I am going tonight. I will be getting eirhtr a EJOY 1100 ce4 kit or a EJOY twist with other stuff. I am leaning to the CE4 as it is in budjet for now and it can be upgraded. LJs E-smokes has been very helpful and I look forward to meeting them tonight.

Congrats!!!!!! Glad you're vaping.

About juice.... oye. Hard to say what anyone is going to end up with. I thought I wanted tobacco. I found out tobacco does not taste like burning tobacco and all it did was make me crave a real one. Be open to trying things other than tobacco just in case this happens to you. Order sample packs from different vendors rather than going all in on a big bottle until you're sure you'll like it.

Oh, and congrats again!

OK, I know I am driving John D crazy. I got my EJOY 1100 last night. got 3 flavors of juice Winston, Tobacco and apple cider. so far I have just used the Winston juice. got my kit at 4:30 last night and so far I an "analog" free. I had a Dr. appt this am he was impressed and interested in my set up. So far just a slight headache but that is probably from all the junk I am not smoking, but no desire to run out and smoke a ciggy. I cannot say enough about LJ's e Smoke shop I ran up there after work got there just before closing time and the stayed late and went over everything and were more than patient. Awesome people.
shameless plug for them here L Js E-Smokes, Electronic Cigarettes
Thanks to all here also your advice and banter were just what I needed and thanks for all the support. I will check in a bit later.

Congratulations, Skip. You've got an amazing community in ECF that will help you out with whatever you need. Sometimes we get a little crazy with our opinions on what to vape and what to vape with, but try to sort through all of the noise to find what works best for you and you're lifestyle. :)

"OK, I know I am driving John D crazy".

No worries, mate - that ship has already sailed. :)

VERY happy to hear that you're analog-free; I have extremely high confidence that that will continue forever. Done right, vaping is more enjoyable than smoking, which is its Number One weapon in the War Against Cigarettes.

And naturally, I'm very glad that you haven't been driven off in a horrific fog of confusion and frustration, as some here feared you might be.

The offer to PM me at any time, or have free phone consultations, stands.

Vape on, bro. :vapor:

Oh no, he didn't get a Twist now he's gonna die. :(

I have a feeling Skip will have VV soon enough. I just had a nice long chat with Jake at LJ, and he says they're going to have a bunch of Vision Spinners coming in right after the Chinese New Year; I'm actually starting to favor them over the Twist, but they're both fine. Their version of the kGo VV also looks great; much better buttons that the kGo VV, which PBusardo wasn't all that crazy about.

I am sure a twist is in the cards for the future. I just wanted to get started with the best quality rig I could in a budget I cold afford.
$28 + juice cannot be beat and it is a EJOY that can be built on.

Yeah, you're going to love VV. As I've said before, no you don't "need" it - just like you don't "need" a dimmer switch on a light, or a toaster that can do light, medium, or dark, or a stove burner that can be adjusted to different temperatures - but I think a case can be made that those things are nice to have.

Skip got something that fit his budget. It's simple. He's happy. He's not smoking. Life is great. What else can you ask for (except maybe a VV Twist with a Vivi Nova threaded on the top and a display that shows how many watts its vaping at without having to calculate it)?

There's really no need to calculate anything with a VV device and a Vivi Nova, or any other attachment. Just turn to volts up or down until you like the vape. Just like a dimmer switch; just turn it one way or the other until you like the brightness. I just think it's nice to have a basic understanding of how volts, ohms, watts, and amps work, but it's really not necessary.

But again; on the other hand, kiss my .... :)

Good thing no one tried to explain the calculations to him. Poor guy wouldn't know what to think. :D
