I think it's kind of funny how the BF Odin has exploded in popularity. I personally love it, but it's not a magic RDA. It's a larger 22mm atomizer that is easy to build on and has a pretty nice reduced chamber for dual coils with an adjustable airflow top cap. Perfect RDA for lung hitters. If you like your RM2s, RM3s, cyclones without AFC, ect... it's not going to replace those, but for LP Reo owners who like direct to lung vaping, it's great. It also works really well as a bottom feeder because the guys at LokiLab made the feed/drain hole right at the deck so you don't have any drain problems.
But let's not don't go all crazy and think this is "THE" bottom fed atomizer that will be the greatest vape you ever had. I really like it, but not all the time. If it's the only atomizer I had, I would probably get pretty frustrated when I wanted to vape with a tighter draw and more flavor. You can adjust the Odin's airflow, but it's never going to equal an RM2 or Cyclone on mouth to lung hits for flavor chasing. It wasn't designed for that kind of vaping.
I'm glad super_X_drifter (Russ) has found his absolute favorite setup in the Odin and has gone balls to the wall and switched everything he owns over to it, but remember, everyone vapes differently and not all tastes are the same. I feel like a Mom going "If super_X_drifter jumped off a cliff would you do it too?" LOL, but seriously, if you want to try out an Odin because you are dissatisfied with your current atomizer and have been looking to try something new (or not even dissatisfied, but just want to try something new), go for it, but please don't think that there is anything "wrong with you" if you get one and really are not crazy about it.
I personally have spent this last year all over the board when it comes to vaping and have found things I like about all different kinds of setups atomizer wise. I don't think I'm ever going to switch away from bottom feeders like the Reo, but I've figured out that I like different vapes on different days, and sometimes like different vapes at different TIMES of the day. I really don't enjoy blasting my lungs first ting in the morning with my .5 dual coil Odin. I much prefer a woodvil with an RM2 or my mini with a cyclone with fusion drip tip setup at about 1 ohm or so, but I've found that if I keep vaping that setup, somewhere around 1:00-2:00 in the afternoon, I get a little frustrated at the amount of vapor that I'm getting and switching over to the Odin is like a breath of fresh air (ironic no?).
Just wanted to put this out there because I keep seeing people mention that they really want an Odin because they feel they must be missing out on something great. For a frustrated lung hitter buying an Odin will be awesome, but for someone who is happy with their RM2 and vapes cig like (mouth to lung) then you are bound to be a little disappointed. It's still a well built atomizer, but not for everybody. Which is why there are not just one or two mod and atomizer styles and only a couple types of juice.
Enjoy your weekend peeps,
Kentastic
Great post! I'm glad I have one but it's for a change up, not my ADV. I'm a flavor guy and mostly vape around 1 ohm on single coils I even lung hit but my other RBAs give me better flavor.
